  1. Last fall I found photos, and explanations, on how folks outfitted their yaks for fishing. I can't recall if it was on this site or not. Now it looks like we may be moving to the Outer Banks and I'm thinking about making the move. Does anyone here recall those photos, or where I might go to see any????
  2. Thanks again folks! We arrive the first week in October. Will need to spend some time getting everything up and running-phone, cable, etc. Then hope to begin fishing. Lars, sounds like a good place to begin. I'm thinking by then the swimmers will have thinned out some.
  3. TLDig, Thanks for the point in the right direction.
  4. In October we'll be going to work @ Cedars-Sinai Hospital in Beverly Hills. I see several piers along the coast, but curious to know if there's surf fishing along the coast as well. Not sure where we'll be living yet, but generally they put us up within an easy commute to the hospital.
  5. These guys take their kayak fishing serious. http://extremecoast.com/reports/report080604.htm

  7. One question - what area/season are you fishing or inquiring about? I know if I had to pick 6 lures, I'd wanna know exactly where I was gonna fish and what season TimS My list is six that I think will cover most areas, most of the time. However, if you need more specifics . . . how's DelMarVa/OBX and about this time of year? [ 08-06-2004, 03:19 PM: Message edited by: Barnacle Bob ]
  8. If you had to limit your hardware to six lures, what would they be? Color? Size? Here's mine. Mind you, I rarely cast hardware. There's nothing I enjoy more than sitting in my beach-chair and drowning a little bait. However, on the rare occasions I am slinging lures here's what I prefer. 1. Gotcha, Red head/white body - 2 oz. 2. Tsunami Shock Wave - 2oz. 3. Sea Striker Jigfish, black/silver - 2 oz. 4. Stingsilver, blue/white - 2 oz. 5. Storm Wildeye Minnow, 4" 6. Storm Saltwater Chug Bug, Metallic Gold Mullet This selection covers a variety of colors, allows me to cast or jig, and fish the surface. Granted they're not all "striper" baits, but serve me well as all-a-rounders.
