How do you guys/gals rig your live bait? I’ve had stripers steal my live herring and mackerel off my hook the past 3 days so I want to increase my chances of hooking up. I’m using a size 6/0 circle hook. For herring I hook behind the dorsal fin and for mackerel I hook between the mouth. In the past I never had this problem. I’m waiting for the striper to swallow the bait before I even pull on it but the striper pulls the bait off the line before I get a chance.

I was snagging pogies and realized some tinker Mack’s were chasing my treble hook so I quickly snagged some. Anyone else have this happen? What’s the best way to fish for Mack’s in Boston harbor from shore? I got a hit on the Mac within a few minutes.

Did you mail in your original tittle or a copy of it?

I’m having a hard time getting in contact with the Environmental Police Recreational vehicle/boat registry in Boston. I want to register my new boat, but they won’t answer the phone and I’m hearing they are not taking walk ins during Covid but I’m not sure if it’s true. I want to walk in with my paperwork. I feel if I do the mail in option, my boat won’t get registered until next summer.. Does anyone have any info on this?

That's a pretty cool idea. I found one under a piece of plywood in my backyard, when I was in a kid in the mid 90's and then again hiking off trail through the Blue Hills in 2008. I walked right passed it. I didn't even see it until my friend walked by right behind me and it started rattling.

I'll be at the canal this weekend. Any tips for fishing in a hurricane lol?
-
I'm pretty sure you were right next to me. Were you with your buddy?
-
Were you at the canal this morning on the east end? Thought I might have saw you judging by your avatar.

Thanks for the insight guys. What reel do you think I should pair up with this rod? It will be used mostly at the canal. I have a shimano baitrunner 6000 that I really like but I feel it's too small for the canal? What about the 8000? I was also looking at the Fin nor leathal 100. My budget is around $200.

I ended up finding it and had it fixed up at M&D's.

I just got a TFO 10'6 rod as birthday gift and I'm trying to figure out what it's rated for. On the rod, it says 2-6oz, but on the TFO website and researching on SOL, it's saying it's 2-8oz. Do they just put 2-6 on the rod, but it's really 2-8?
