  1. Colt Government Competition series 70 5", Colt Gold Cup 5", Colt Special Combat 5". Hope this helps
  2. Springfield range officer would be an choice I think you would be happy with, Colt if you can swing it would be my first choice. If you are into competition shooting that would be another post.
  3. Colt top of the line, Springfield fully loaded or better
  4. Make sure the rod is clean!!, no finger marks, and apply the next coat. TS
  5. Yes a black foot will show, paint the foot use auto touch -up paint comes with an applicator TS
  6. I can not see the point of rebuilding an old fiberglass rod no matter who the manufacture is, unless it is a current and proven member of your fishing arsenal. The new composites are far superior in every aspect . After you have spent the time and monies to rebuild, you still have a old fiberglass rod. I'm not trying to be offensive, I just do not see as a worthy project with the finished product .
  7. I have been building custom surf, jetty, and split bamboo fly rods for over 40 years and have never needed a so called spine/spline finder. Save you time and monies.
  8. Chipper Little Badger single shot .22LR is a brake action that will fold down to 16.5", overall length of 32" , But is not a true break down. TS
  9. Rugger 10/22 take down by far, comes per cased. My need extra clips and as Hunter4632 stated all kinds of accessories TS
  10. A used Ronzetti will run you about 1000.00 others used around 250.00, if it as an up graded chuck 75 to 100 more plus shipping TS
  11. It looks as if the scrim did not bake through consistently, poorly done. Having it look professional the entire blank may need to be refinished. The spirals lines you see are the carbon triangle as it is spiraled on the mantle, as long as they are tight and no air bubbles you should be good to go. Hope this helped and tight lines TS
  12. First off custom and factory never go hand and hand. All factory rods are built the same and there is nothing custom about them. If you are serious about a custom rod, built for you and your needs find a rod builder in your area. He or She can make up a few mock-up rods for you to try casting with your reels est. It may cost you a little more than one off the rack but you will have the rod you’re looking for
  13. Hopping you and yours recover quickly. What a great attitude and outlook. Some of my best fishing is in November and December on AI. Drum and Stripers are all over (keep this to yourself) and the beach is nearly abandoned. Dress warm and come out, hope to see you on the beach.
  14. The ABU Veritas is not a high end rod, that being said the cost to have the rod rebuilt (with 3” off the tip) is what needs to be done will probley exceed the cost of a new rod, If not covered by warranty buy a new rod
