  1. If you’ve got yak or sup or whatever and need roof/carry solution please help yourself. In marblehead.
  2. Came home and rod was waiting for me. It is a sweet piece of gear. Thanks stripset Mag I had read rio outbound 12 wt was the line to hit the beach with. I think it’s 510g but I also think that was two handed overhead casting. Always good to have a new thing to obsess over as winter plays out.
  3. whilst I have resisted the overwhelming temptation I can do longer. I will buy it. PM sent
  4. I also am a massive fan of this rod. Might have to figure out a reason to pass through central Jersey in the area of exit 8!
  5. I've some experience to share although not as in-depth as many. I have both a inflatable Tahoe Alpine Explorer and a Native Versa Board. I've fished some from both but think for a bunch of reasons - both fishing reasons and family reasons - I am more into the inflatable. It is lighter, easier to get into and out of the water, it supports my somewhat massive girth, 6' x 270 lbs, provides the stability to cast and also is cool for my numerous sons to putz around on at the beach and stuff. I've rigged a large watertight Plano box with rod holders, etc that I lash to the deck on account of being an inflatable the Tahoe does not have as many rigging options. The Versa board being a kayak/SUP hybrid is probably fundamentally compromised as a dedicated example of either. Heavy, cumbersome, hard to get to beach/into action. But it can be much more comprehensively rigged for fishing. The versa board I have I got used and came with a bunch of rod holders and stuff that could be mounted in its tracks. And the guy had rigged an anchor trolly. I think for anyone thinking about sorta kinda SUP fishing - like me - I think the inflatable is the way to go. Having said that if I ever got enough free time to actually go out and dedicate myself to fishing I would pursue one of the more dedicated fishing boards.
  6. Funny, I've been reading/searching/watching youtube on these two hand overhead beach rods and this one in particular, and I come on here after a long absence and there's one at the top of the list! Does this being a replacement mean that should something happen to it there's no more warranty left?
  7. Cool. I supposed to be downsizing too. But that is a fantastic fishing kayak so I figured it was worth the ask. GLWTS
  8. Would you have any interest in a SOT/SUP hybrid? It is a Native Watercraft VersaBoard. Can be paddled like a standup paddle board or used as a Sit-On-Top kayak. Mine includes an optional Sling Swivel Seat which makes it even more comfortable and usable. Not used very often at all. More details, pics, etc if interested.
  9. Love these rods. Do you ever have occasion to travel northernly? I ask because I'm in Boston and perhaps a location between us could work for a sale.
  10. Man, I wish I had the dough. THis is my dream vice.
  11. Thanks for figuring that out for me. Package deal makes more sense. And it is a real sweet setup.
  12. I wonder if you've ever considered selling the reel and spool separately. I wonder what price you would consider fair if you did sell them separately. And finally I wonder if you'd consider some sort of trade.
  13. I was hoping to pick up a couple spools for my Nautilus reel. Can trade plugs or stuff or cash. Thanks, tight lines, Bob
  14. I've been redoing my fly reels and I am thinking this 100 yards one color 100 yards the other is a smart way to go. How can you tell when you've spooled 100 yards on?
  15. The ones I really wonder about are the pencil thing (4) and the jointed swimmer (24)
  16. Glad the rod is in the hands of a fisherman that's going to put it to work. Doesn't seem like there's a lot of interest in the conventional so I'll hold on to it and lets consider THREAD CLOSED Thanks TIM and SOL
  17. After having a kayak, selling it, getting another and selling that one too - with brief boat ownership in there and a lot of casting off the rocks - I'm back amongst the kayak fishers. And I am stoked. I'm in the process of obsessing over how to rig it etc. Hopefully I will get out on Saturday!
  18. If I was really off on the counter let me know and I'm hopeful we can work something out. THink this would be a nice setup for your trip and also great in the surf.
  19. The update is it has taken me until today to get on top of this shipping situation. But, hopefully, by the end of business today both of these rods wil be on their way.
