    Gasparilla Inn & Club

"The Gasparilla Inn & Club is a classic “old Florida” resort located on Gasparilla Island on the Gulf of Mexico. "

It's very fancy...they probably make you tuck your shirt into your shorts and wear a belt :squid:

****. You gotta wear a jacket and tie to dinner. But they also just let you walk through the lobby when you come back muddy, sweaty and bug bitten after chasing snook around the docks and mangroves.  you can pretty much do whatever the hell you want in old Florida.  Just dress nice for dinner.

Don't know where that is, but whomever designed put the water way too close to the fairway :dismay:

    Have fun

:dismay: Genious actually.  What they DID was put the sheepshead close to the 13th through 16th holes. :th:

  3. In another month when the grass comes out of dormancy it will be a different place.  The ground is saturated, even down there where it's mostly sand.  TD is as good as it gets ANYWHERE in the country. Great track. I hope you grounded your club in the waste brown sand areas.  You can you know. They try to trick you by "defining" it in a bunker, but this is a civilized activity. Pinehurst has it right.  But not in the white fluffy sand. :wag: Or just put it in the fairway.  That's a safe bet. :th:

Kneel, is Leo an cardigan Welsh Corgi? A beautiful dog. Just curious on how old. Is he also an extremely smart, stubborn ass*ole? Our Loki turns one year old on the 19th and is such a lovable dick head, but still unruly as hell.   Jim

Australian Shepherd. He's 7yo, 50lbs and YES, extremely smart and stubborn AUShole. Herding dogs. That's what makes Aussies and Corgis the way they are. When they are with you, they already know they are the smartest person in the room.  I have an 11yo female(Ruby) as well who is a total bitch. :dismay: She's practically a mini weighing in at 30lbs, but full of fire and fury.  Again, crazy smart.  Borderline mind reader. She runs the show...

    these forecasters should be embarrassed

when i looked last night they were still yammering on about 1-3"

    wtf?

Yep. 13" of fluffy white global warming measured on the Warren/Bernards border BEFORE the sun came out for 15 minutes and it shrunk to about 4". :squid: I just tuned up the Ariens, pushed it out of the garage and it was like "... shovel that by hand, fatty...".  OTOH, Leo usually gets the snow-balls which is always fun. :th:

What are your thoughts on the new LandCruiser that comes out this year?

It will be a fantastic appliance. :th:   But since we cant have the REAL Land Cruiser(yeah I know you can get the LX600) I would get the GX550 Overtrail+ over the LC250. 70k and it sounds like a ****ing sewing machine when you hit the skinny pedal. :dismay: I'll take the twin turbo 6, thank you, and the Lexus silence for not much more of a premium.  Unless they release the rumored LC Trailhunter...maybe not though.  That's the thing about TNGA-F.  All this **** should be interchangeable.  The 250/550 get a reinforced 8.2 front and rear(no option of a front locker, no room), whereas the Taco Trailhunter gets an 8.9 front / 9.5 rear WITH a front locker option and is closer to LC300/Sequoia/Tundra which is a 9.5" front and rear.  It's gonna be interesting.  The 250 has killed the Bronco and Defender.  Jeep has been dead for a long time, they just don't realize it...

I was a Land Rover mechanic for 18 years. The 110 was actually one of the models with the fewest problems. I would say the older defender 90 was a beast too. I don’t think any production truck could touch the 110.  The off road capability is untouched.

Yes and no.  I've had a 68 2a 88 and 93 NAS D110 and still have 94 and 97 NAS D90s and a 97 D1.  WITH PROPER MAINTENANCE, LR's are extremely reliable vehicles, especially 4.0 GEMS D90 and D1. Nobody believes me, but the 97 D1 never left me stranded where my 06 Land Cruiser has.  That being said, none of my Rovers run now and just sit in the driveway making me sad.  I still drive the 06 LC100 with nearly 300k on the odo. My present daily is a 2018 Land Cruiser.  The 200 series Land Cruiser is without peers.  Nothing comes close in reliability, capability, comfort in it's stock form.  The D110 doesn't even com close in capability to my LC200 and mine had a front trutrack and rear detroit lockers, Forget about comfort, the D110 is a farm truck...

  8. Camp out!   We can roll up in the Airstream Interstate the night before. Plenty of room for everyone to get a good night sleep(gonna need it), full kitchen to make breakfast before we get completely stomped on by Black...or maybe not.  I've shot 100 and I've shot in the 70's.  Survive the drive is the name of the game. Far and straight. I've still got that. Tim, practice driver off the fairway. :th:

That's funny...I don't like when anyone touches my bag, even just to put it on a cart  It's like someone unhooking a fish for me - no thank you...I can do it :squid:

You're a strange bird.  I've known this and  you anyways. But a caddie, a GOOD caddie, carrying your bag, tracking your ball, handing you clubs, etc. while all you do is walk around and swing...that's how it's meant to be played. :th:

Tim should be stripped of his cheap basterdness membership card and pull out the "Christmas card"  AKA "I'm buying something for myself"

and go get fitted to a swing that he'll always fall back on despite tic-toc videos, advice, tips & Monolo teaches golf on youtube.

The goal will be his misses won't be as bad, more fairways, Suck less, suck faster and get nasty

I always waggle that **** then smack that ****. :th: Besides, he doesn't need teh TicTok or the Insta.  I send him videos of my swing all the time.

****...TimS is not getting a new driver :(  I didn't even see a left handed option...the driver isn't even in their search yet - and both regular and stiff are now out of stock....

No DEI at the Costco for the backward armed. :dismay:

I'll do that...I don't even think about my takeaway usually...I'll try that drill.

I have, in my bag right now a 6, 4, 2 and 1 hybrid (I swap it out with my 3-wood once in a while). I hit them more than my irons...the biggest iron in my bag is my 7 right now :)

You actually do have it in your subconscious.  You take three lovely repeatable practice swings then a completely different swing when you step up to the ball.

  13. 2 hours ago, iphish said:

well that would explain a fade or cut then, have you tried taking the same swing ( which likely is burned into your muscle memory and you very well will take it the grave)  but visible closing the face at address?

BTW Djs cupping is absurdly strong

I've tried to get him to OPEN it at address, then slam it CLOSED on take away to get him used to the feeling of closing and keeping the club face closed since he's full cover. :th:

DJ is absurdly side under, which is the complete opposite of full cover.  Tim would have to bring it back WAY inside, which his physiology prevents, to get the face closed.

And I really dismiss my takeaway...I'd often just an after thought...definitely something to work on...some kind of conscious takeaway would probably help a lot :th:

Yup.  It's part of the checklist.  Never a bad idea to review BEFORE you swing.
