  • About Me:
    Surfcaster, Tog hunter
  1. Moco yesterday at the top of the tide, I lost count after 20 fish all about this size. Wind was steady SE, needed something that would reach the big guys past the bar, and I swear I think they were trying to catch it mid-air nearly every cast. The only popper i had that could cut the wind had treble hooks. That was fun...once. All fish released, and I walked off the beach thankful and tired.
  2. Fished out front in NoMoCo yesterday afternoon, one at 28 on a bucktail. Beautiful fish. Carefully released.
  3. I knew you guys would have a good resource, thank you. Hopefully this doesn't start until July and we can get an unaffected spring at least.
  4. Does anyone know if the Corps will be dredging the same place this year (Right off North Beach) I don't know if that info is readily available, but you guys are the most knowledgeable out there.
  5. looking good. Ill be out this afternoon in MoCo, anyone else hitting the front side later?
  6. Out front in MoCo, yesterday afternoon. Steady east wind, Only heavy metal would get over the big curlers. Lots of nice looking white water between the sets. Managed one gator.
  7. Where were these pilings? not looking to spot burn, I just don't want to be anywhere near that.
  8. Anyone know the current location of the dredging operation at Sandy Hook? I'm headed there after work, for my first surf trip in a while, with only a few hours to fish. Just trying to maximize my chances for a good report for y'all
  9. Thanks for the replies guys. I'm off the sand til next week, due to some family obligations... I'm aiming to fish one or two days a week through the fall. Ill send some messages when i can get out.
  10. Just picked up a new 706z for my 10' Airwave. That wide spool casts like a dream, and it balances nicely with 2-3 oz hanging of the end. Initially I thought it might be a heavier set up and tire me out more than my other outfit, but it seems to cast farther with less effort, which is very nice. You are more than welcome to give it a try when we wet a line together.
  11. Hey guys, I dont post here often , but im a long time fan of this site. I fish sandy hook after work sometimes or LBI, which is close to where I live. If anyone frequents these haunts and wants to hook up for the fall run, let me know. I work alot, so my fishing time is limited, and would love a small network to share tips and tricks with like I use to have before kids, when i fished every day or night! Thanks guys, Beau
  12. Snuck out to LBI this AM, to try out a new 10' plugging rod. It was blowing a steady 15-18 dead east, outgoing water. Threw the usual assortment, not a tap. The airwave held its own in the wind, I'm pretty impressed. Saw 2 or 3 other guys fishing bait, no bent rods. Still carrying the skunk.
  13. Awesome shop, tons of the stuff you need, and the staff is very knowledgeable. Nice shop Max!
