1. I would say at least 9 if not 10 on the mechanical side. I think I did two 50 pound tuna on it. Probably been on the boat only 10 times since the year I bought it turned out to be a not so great tuna year. Never been dunked or fished in the surf. Line roller is smooth. Just hasn't had that much use.
2. Todd, i get that. A quick search looks like the going rate might be more like $550 so I will split the difference with you and go $570 shipped. If not I think I will just keep it. Sean
3. No. Here is a pic to make sure we are looking at the same thing.
4. Expensive to replace in the future so I would like to net $600. Looks like insured shipping is $20. So $620 shipped.
5. Not the absolute best pics so if this doesn't do it for you let me know and I can try and get some with natural light tomorrow. Minus the burr on the handle only a very few small scratches that you really have to look for. I don't have the paperwork so I must have registered the reel. Bought it three years ago. Haven't owned the boat for two so it saw one season of fishing.
6. I have one I might be willing to part with. Was used as a boat reel for tuna but I mostly fly fish so it only saw a few fish. It does have a burr mark on the handle from a buddy using it as hook holder but other than that it is clean. Serial number is 15109 which I believe is US made. I am the first owner and have the box and bag. Might have the papers. Let me know if you are interested and I can get a pic and verify if I have the papers tomorrow or Saturday.
7. I think the big difference is the running and gunning we do for tuna, albies etc...I assume you real up when you move from spot to spot and the angler takes a seat. Whereas we may be fishing rips etc...and moving a good distance with the angler still in the bow. Saves time reeling up and stripping line out later. I use a plain old orvis basket for lower line weights that will sit in the basket fine but the heavy core lines we use for tuna work a lot better in the bigger bucket. Sean
8. Maybe try your local UFT chapter. If you are just starting tying its a great way to learn and most have a swap night each year where you might find a home for the supplies you don't need.
9. Sounds good. Shoot me a PM with your paypal.
10. I will take it if you take paypal. I can send the funds directly from a bank account through them which should eliminate any fee on your end.
11. Can you post the exact model number of the net? Thanks, Sean
12. looks like I got edited out by the software...the second word is pronounced hoar.
13. Looks like an albie ***** to me...the fly that is Sean
