  1. thank you for the swift reply. PM sent. as soon as i receive the tag i will send the reel out.
  2. hello all. so i bought the new penn spinfisher v 6500ll from a seller online and it arrived friday afternoon. needless to say i was psyched!!!!! i opened the box, took the reel out, gave it the once over look. everything looked good. reel was packaged just like my spinfisher v 5500, bubble wrapped and everything. good. so i am turning the handle to screw it in and the cap? on the opposite side fell off. i inspected and noticed the threads were stripped. try as i may i could not get it to stay on. called a shop they said .89 cents for the cap, so i was like ok no big deal. so now i got the handle on and i am trying out the live liner feature. flipped the switch and started to turn the spool just to see how much range the rear drag has. whap !!! the spool stuck like i was on the main drag. i checked and i wasnt. i tried a couple times and same thing. the reel goes from light drag from the rear drag system and all of a sudden gets tight. as in maybe 10 lbs drag tight. another thing i noticed is that the bearing retainer? that attaches to the two sides of the housing plates that has the holes for that little pin that goes click when u screw in the handle and the opposite cap is missing. so there are two holes in the retainers and no pins. i checked my 5500 V and it has one on each sides. and another thing i went online and viewed pics of 6500 ll the cap has PENN on it. mine does not. i am posting pics of it. i hope someone from penn reads this cause i aint a happy camper.

  9. nah its the part that gets pinned onto the main gear shaft. um when u take the main gear out u can remove the sleeve buy pushing out a pin that runs crossways thru the main gear post. the part that comes off is the part that the handle hole fits over it has the sides beveled. i think from penn exploded parts it called the gear sleeve. thanks for the replies everyone
