I still don't have a good solution for that one. This would seem to indicate that you are on the water somewhere still trying to break loose...good luck bro.
  2. A1- nice segment, but when I saw you fishing my first thought was "SPOT BURN" Here's the Facebook link for Chronicle, but I don't see any videos: https://www.facebook.com/chronicle5 But there was a picture of what the canal will look like this weekend on the page:

  4. When it comes to the canal I I'm not convinced that this is always helpful. Wondering if it has something to do with how it carries in the current since that is so powerful there. I usually start throwing without scent at the ditch, and if I don't get any results then I will changeover and add scent to it. That doesn't always work so sometimes the only scent I get is the scent of the skunk...... If I throw off the beach like Duxbury or Truro and I scent it up, it seems to work better than just rubber or plugs. Honestly sometimes I get concerned if the scent is way off, it'll drive fish away as well. Now when it comes to freshwater, and I fish freshwater on a lake in Maine so very little current, I'm convinced this makes a huge difference. And I see a huge popularity of scents with the locals up there that I fish with. Of course none of this is scientifically proven, just what makes sense to me given the results. Ask me again next year and I will probably be telling you something different depending on my results during the season......

Yeah - I felt the same thing, now that you say it. They killed soft jigs, so I moved towards those a lot by the end of the season, throwing a Bucktail out, only occasionally.

He showed up with 6 pies (2 kitchen sinks, 4 cheeses) between 3 of us we killed them all. Sounds great, I have to hit it the next time through the N-Shore, Bro still lives NBPT, so maybe its time to visit. They use to 1/2-way cook pizzas for take home, so you could throw them in your freezer and cook it up another day. Also remember the Budweiser horse wagon model on the wall when I was a kid - I wanted that so bad - last time I went it was still there.....

  8. Anyone on the North Shore - is Riverview still open in Ipswich? Man - that was the best thin crust Pizza up on the North Shore. My Dad use to take me there when I grew up in Newburyport....

One of the frustrating things about the site – kind of a love-hate thing I have with it – is how often a thread may get hijacked and discussion goes another way. And in the flow of posts I can see why the topic may change and continued in another direction. The problem is there is so much information on this site that you can't find elsewhere, but it can be so hard to find at times because they're hidden in these type of threads..... That Rod building topic thread above actually has information that I was looking for a couple of weeks ago. As most of the High-end rods use KW guide set up, I was trying to decide if I wanted to build my new rod with that or the LC set up. I ultimately decided on the KW, but it would've been nice to have this information before.....unfortunately I looked at the Rod Building Forum, and not the Main Forum for rod building information. So thanks for finding that thread for me. Maybe I need to use the FoliFish search engine instead of Google from now on.....

The 20 K just looked way too large for what I was fishing – the thing is massive. Even though the max drag goes up to 44 lbs from33 lbs, it weighs about 10 oz more. Since I'm going to jig a lot with it, the lighter the better..... BTW - I've seen the old model Gosa's 14 Ks on eBay a lot if someone wants to try going there for one. I know eBay can be hit or miss, but I've had pretty good luck recently with a couple of freshwater reels off of it.

Yeah - I work in the building next to Emma's So it is easy enough for me. I've heard others speak highly of Otto's - I must try it.
  13. In Cambridge near Kendal, Emma's Pizza is great, get a couple slices from there once a week for lunch. My son brought home a Big Mac Pizza from Easy Pie in Braintree - this place has some very different pizzas, including desert ones, like a S'mores Pizza. I gotta tell you the Big Mac (Mac Daddy) Pizza tasted just like a Micky D's Big Mac. I wasn't going to eat it, I mean a Pizza with lettuce and pickles on it.....but I'm glad I did. My favorite bar pizza is still Lynwood Cafe's pizza in Randolph.....going to have to hit Easy Pie or Lynwood this weekend for sure now...
