I'd say its more toward the heavy side, definitely not a shell. This is a 3/4 season jacket for heavy snow, cold, rain, and surf. specs are on the website but If you're around 6 ft plus or minus 3-4 inches and over 200 pounds this should be a good fit

Not to hijack but have you out the reel on the rod? I have a tail water on my 5 and it's almost a bit small. It's best on a 4. You may want a tail water if it's going on a 4 or 5
