When I worked in the field many years ago, we used to bring alive the "exotics"  we collected from south Cape estuaries to the curator of the NOAA Fisheries (then National Marine Fisheries Service) Aquarium in Woods Hole and he was always enthused with species from "away".   Some of those exotics are becoming commonplace here now. With warming waters in the Northeast and elsewhere, "The times they are a-changing"(Bob Dylan).  One of the DMF senior scientists, and doubtless others, has been publicly stating that the waters of  the Gulf of Maine are increasing more rapidly than anywhere else.

8,000 years ago, there was this place known as St.Georges Is.Its now known as Georges Bank, things are always changing.

You should look on Craigslist for a brake. Problem is almost all of them are junk and have been abused. My dad got one for me off of a job site that a sub left there for over a year. It was a wreck I tell you. It sat outside for a couple of years before I decided to rebuild it. Took it into my basement and replaced almost everything on it. I leave it in my basement on my saw horses now.

Any interest in IP'E.  expensive but I love it

We went to Fisherman's Market in New Bedford (our new fav fish market) the other day. They had beautiful bft and yft for sale, $8.49lb. Opted for the bft.  Had it the other night seared and chilled, with a spring greens salad with fresh strawberries and sliced almonds and some nice pinot noir.

    Yes, worth the trip.

They closed their retail business a few years ago, and reopened maybe 2,,3?years ago.

     I was in withdrawals!
