  1. Spending next week in a place that is on the beach and backs up against green hill pond. A quick google search makes green hill pond sound not so good. Sounded like it's not good for swimming? would it be good for critter catching with my 5 and 6 year olds? Any tips on restaurants in a reasonable drive as well? Good beer is important. Seafood stores? Rainy day kid places? Fished area a lot but never vacationed. Thanks in advance. Mike
  2. DIF and let it soak in. Use a 6" joint knife. Be careful not to tear paper on dryeall.
  3. Th That adds great value to the discussion.
  4. I spoke to Eeebs and he forgot about it and is or has mailed it out. He's been offline- so he's been unaware of all pm and threads. Like I said, he's dealing with life and is fine. He just forgot about it. If he doesn't make good on getting it out this week- I will drive to his house next week and mail it personally.
  5. I just did 1200 square feet of 2 1/4 oak. The flooring mfg will specify fastening mechanism and spacing. Pneumatic all the way. I used a bostich stapler with 2" staples. I used a 15 gauge angle nailer to face nail the starter and last rows near the wall. Holes are barely noticeable and has good holding power. Shot 2 inchers also. With prefinished the subfloor preparation really dictates how well the finished product will turn out. Address every squeak in subfloor prior too starting. Belt sander helped to level any irregularities in subfloor. Examine wood closely and layout good racks. Really Helps if you have an extra set of hands. I learned a lot in that month. Thankful I don't have to do that work for a living. Don't hesitate to PM me - I'd be glad to answer any questions. Good luck!
  6. He's still alive but life may have a hold of him.
  7. Got a dozen over the weekend. Think this was the last of them. Most were easy pickings as they were trying wedge cicadas down into their burrows.Haven't seen one since- fingers crossed.
  8. Got a few hanging out in the backyard Bump!
  9. Put out glue traps this am- not a good idea with two toddlers at home today. Wife is pissed!!! She doesn't get that we are at war with wasps!
  10. I'm down to a half dozen stragglers but they become wise to me. I will give the glue traps a go- I want them all gone!
  11. I'm battling theses bastards also. I have a paver patio loaded. Super aggressive and scary. I've sprayed the holes, covered with kids rubber pool and blasted with Hornet killer. Holes have reduced to a handful. Not stopping till all are gone. I found them when fixing the pavers and they are holding up my resanding. I Don't think polymeric sand will even hold them back.
