  1. Blackened striped bass tacos ...
  2. I rig as follows: Mainline 30lb braid>barrel swivel>3' shock leader of 50lb mono>snap swivel>tube (Santini or Al's)
  3. Rowands Seafood in Beverly. Excellent shop, been there for over 50 years. Ordinarily I would add Cherry Street Fish Market in Danvers ... but they are temporarily closed for renovation.
  4. Sadly my weekend in North Truro is over. Was spectacular. Capt Mario from Hindsight charters did an outstanding job sat afternoon on our 4 hour trip on their 32’ Sea Vee. Crept out of rock harbor and once clear, we flew out to Billingsgate where it was nonstop action. The three of us each has a keeper and a pile of others in the 26-27” range. Wire line and jigs ruled, hard work jigging like that but fun nonetheless. We started off by trolling Sabikis through the mountain of fish that we were marking ... but only hooked up that way once. Two more passes with the Sabikis and he canned it and switched us up to jigging and it was lights out. For a young kid Mario really was superb and we had a blast despite some rain during the last hour. Dinners at Macs and the Pearl In Wellfleet were as enjoyable as they can be given the Covid non sense. The bloody Mary and fish stew at Bublas for lunch in P-Town today was great as well. This after we did the walk through the Peaked Hill Bars this morning to the ocean. We did not end up launching the kayaks. Wind wasn’t favorable when we wanted to go so ended up just fishing the beach on the bayside in front of the house. Picked up a handful of schoolies each ... minnows really. 10-12” fish. Can’t wait to go back in the fall. Hoping my buddies access to this spectacular house in North Truro doesn’t end anytime soon!
  5. OK so me and my two fishing buddies are headed to his client's house on the beach in North Truro for a 3 day guys fishing weekend ... we will be fishing the bayside beach (after all, you can walk right down from the house) and will probably get over to the other side as well but are considering a charter for Sat AM ... any recommendations out that way as far as a good charter operation?
  6. Good to hear, thank you. My buddy was assured the same. I’ll report back. We are bringing the kayaks as well. My buddy has scouted around and thinks a launch out Pamet harbor one morning this w/e would be good. Tide will be going out. Anyone ever kayak out of pamet? Looks like a great spot and I would think we should find some bass ... either inside or off the beach? Would prefer not to have Whitey around haha
  7. Thanks for all the suggestions gents. My buddy has been down there this week and has us hooked up to go out of Rock Harbor on Hindsight Charters ... we shall see! And yes Z-Man, I agree about Macs ... have a reservation at the Wellfleet location. It has been a favorite when we've visited the last couple of times.
  8. Pan fried flounder with lemon butter caper sauce with side of broccoli sauteed with garlic. Delish!
  9. Finally starting to see some nicer bass in the boulder fields where I like to fish ... several measures 26” with 24/25s mixed in ... all covered in lice. Clear water where I was, no weed. Surface busts around dawn with 10-14” fish inside. And the good flounder bite continues. The founder are getting nice and thick. Was a good morning despite the NE breeze at 10 kts... was a long tough paddle back into it. I’m beat!
  10. Fish tacos ... made with fresh flounder.
  11. I always keep a few rat traps set in my detached garage as I've had issues with those bastards setting up shop in there from time to time over the years. Much to my surprise, I caught two weasels this winter. I had never seen one in my life to that point. Had to google it to see what they were.
  12. Ah, good luck. The B/C is only allowed to carry 10 passengers per the ME rules. I may give it go next week.
  13. BunnyClark?
  14. You ain't kidding ...
  15. Yup, exactly what I hoped might happen given the lack of/decreased dragging during April. I just wasn't sure it would translate so quickly to improved results. Things should only get better as the water warms ...
  16. Great fish! Have you found the flounder fishing better this spring compared to the last couple of seasons? I have done much better so far this May than last.
  17. Fresh fried flounder
  18. I used haddock (from Fisherman’s wharf in Gloucester), ritz cracker crumbs, parsley, butter and lemon. Side of sautéed broccoli with garlic
  19. Looks excellent captain.
  20. Found a decent flounder bite on this beautiful morning. Four keepers and a throwback. One real nice one. A great start to the season.
  21. Broke through this morning. Managed 10 in a half hour up to 24”. Felt great!
  22. Great news Cap. Looking forward to a great flounder bite this year. The kayak goes in next week!
  23. Treadwells in Peabody is open!
