  1. I know a lot of people use BLO but the fact that it has OIL in the name is why I have never used it. I seal with etex thinned with alcohol. etex will not yellow unless you start with the old yellow etex hardener and it will come out the yellow color you started with but will not continue to yellow after that. I have 4 year old+ white plugs with no yellowing at all. if you want an epox that will yellow with time may I suggest Flex-coat I made my first rod with this stuff and then made a few poppers with the left over and the poppers and my rod was yellowing after a year. I can't believe rod makers use this crap for so long This is why most commercial rods are wrapped with black thread lol
  2. Keep an eye open for 50%
  3. ?????????????
  4. Gobble, Gobble
  5. Now that made me laugh!
  6. I have been using the Harbor frieght 18" and I can see a reason to pay more money, It is fine. 12" may be tight like Charleston said above.
  7. Oh and on a lighter note this reminds me of an old story from where I live now that happened long be for I lived here. Enjoy: Man lands tuna barehanded It's a fish story that defies belief, but a North Carolina man recently caught a 116-pound yellowfin tuna with his bare hands. Bennie Keisler was surf fishing at Holden Beach, N.C., when he saw something big chasing the small spot he was reeling in. Keisler kept cranking, and the big fish kept coming and coming . . . until it beached itself in 6 inches of water. Keisler recognized it as a yellowfin tuna from having seen one on television. Wading into the surf, Keisler grabbed the flopping tuna by the tail and dragged it onto the beach. "He about beat me to death getting him in," Keisler said. "I ain't never seen anything that big live." Yellowfin tuna average about 40 pounds in that area of coastal North Carolina, and they are usually found 60 miles offshore. One local described the catch as being equivalent to a 500-year flood.
  8. It is not a opinionated political decision. I just don't see fact in what they do. I don't want to hash it out here cause I don't really care that much but there are countless examples of NOAA being wrong. From rain fall predictions to hurricanes and the list goes on. As far as global warming well I'm 44 years old when I was in high school everyone was worked up about acid rain. then when I was in college it was the ozone layer. I actually heard Al gore state that we fixed the ozone layer???? That's amazing! Why don't you hear about this stuff any more? In a few years they will go out and figure out some other sky is falling theory and they will use Junk science to prove it. It is just a way to waste money. That is what most politicians, from both sides, do.
  9. I have no Idea why or if drum are in the Chesapeake, But I do know a little about how NOAA does research and I basically don't give them much credit. I don't want to get into a big global warming thing here. Our earth is always changing. I catch drum here in the surf in January. They can deal with cold water, they are a bit lethargic. Maybe they where put there we now have Lion fish in our waters. just saying...
  10. Following that logic It must be getting colder because there are seals now being sited in North Carolina and are a common occurrence at the mouth of the Chesapeake bay.
  11. I heard it was caught with an Anarchy Lures Pencil Popper.
