  1. bmac, thank you very much for the great info. You and Old Hunter made everything a lot easier. This is why I love this Forum. A lot of awesome folks willing to help their fellow fishermen. Thanks again for the very valuable information!!
  2. Old Hunter thank you for the valuable info. I greatly appreciate it! Yosco, good luck to you too brother!! Enjoy your trip.
  3. I will be heading to Emerald Isle, NC. That's just south of OBX, it's also known as Southern OBX. Has anyone surf fish the area? I will be on the Ocean side. Just three miles north of Bogue Pier. If you've been there, what fish can be caught at this time of year and what bait/lure. What about Ft. Macon? Anyone fish the area? Thanks!
  4. Sorry didn't get back to you sooner. I was away on business. Decided to keep the reel for a future trip to Florida Keys.
  5. What about a Van Staal C-VEX 9/10? It a line and backing and never been used. Just practice on grass.
  6. Wow guys. Thanks for the response! I have been reading reviews and watching Youtube vids for the St Croix Mojo and Tsunami Elite. So far, I am leaning towards the Tsunami. It's funny that my original post is about the St Croix. Now that someone else mentioned the Tsunami and reading good reviews about it, I might pull the plug and purchase it! Going to purchase the Tsunami Elite 9'6 3/4 - 3oz.
  7. Looking to purchase a new St Croix Mojo 9' Surf Rod. But, I can't decide between the 3/4 - 4 oz or 1 - 4oz. I will be throwing SP Minnows, some poppers, occasional bucktail and tins. Anyone have any experience with this rod? Any suggestions would greatly help. Thanks!
  8. Wow, just saw this. I met Art Lee last year April 24 to be exact along the banks of the Beaverkill. I had no clue who he was. I was just getting ready to hit the river when he approached me. We got to talking and he was giving me a little history about the Beaverkill and how long he had fished it. Then he mentioned that he had written a book "Fishing Dry Flies," which he had only one copy in his car. I told him I want to buy his book and that I wanted him to sign it for me. I believe he sold me the book for $25. I even had a photo with him with his book. I'm glad I met Art Lee and will treasure his book with my collections.
  9. Doing a little camping with the family next weekend in the Cape Charles area. I would like to do a little surf fishing and wondering if anyone here have fished this area. Any recommendations? What fish species and lures? Thanks!

  11. I purchased the Sage Salt rod 9' 8 weight last year. Anyone used this particular rod? I will be using it mostly for stripers and blues but need your suggestions on what fly line to use. Thanks!

  15. Lou, thanks for your help. Everything seems to be in place. I'm going to have to send it back to VS or a local tackle shop that services VS reels. Thanks again.
