  1. I fished Breezy regularly until I moved to Jersey over 30 years ago. Just so you know, you can pass by private beach property as long as you are seaward of the mean high water mark as it is considered public land. No one will call the cops on you if you are just passing through, even at high tide.
  2. Matt Ahearn...nice plast from the past!
  3. Not threaded. Someone guessed it may have been the result of someone practicing on a lathe. The best guess so far.
  4. I am a pipe smoker. It does fit in my pipe but it’s not a tamper. Thanks for the input though.
  5. Want to know what diameter is used. Thanks.
  6. Not sure what size to get for SW hooks. TIA
  7. I’ve never fished the back there but they will tell you at Old Inlet for sure. Prolly the best shop I’ve ever been to. Several real fishermen behind the counter.
  8. Make sure you fish the jetty at Indian River Inlet, just south of Rehoboth. While it may have been just a one off, one of the largest blues I’ve seen taken from the surf was off of the north side in July. If you haven’t fished the jetty before, make sure to stop at Old Inlet tackle for the special buck tail rigs used there.
  9. I think about 8 to 10 #s is about the largest I considered as excellent for eating. As stated above, it is essential that anything over 2 pounds or so be bled and iced immediately. The darker “bold line” must be removed when eating.
  10. That essay may be fiction, but could easily be a true story. The brother of a family friend, Bennet Lubell was known as “The King of the Block”, he lived on Block Island and fished constantly back when. Not only was he an excellent, strong swimmer, he had his own current charts and knew the littorals all around the island. He always carried his knife, but I don’t think PFDs were used back then. Well anyway, one night he went out and sadly never returned. We don’t know exactly what happened but I’ll never forget this when fishing.
