  1. Yes well unlike a lot of you, I dont have the money to buy another reel, nor do I want to buy another reel. I didnt ask for what reel to buy, I asked what rod to get, but I got my answer.
  2. I have a Penn 113 Reel, and Currently has a 6'' penn rod on it. With this reel, and doing surf fishing between VA Beach and Outerbanks, what length rod would you suggest getting, to get the distance of putting it out into the 2nd bar?
  3. I will down with my girlfriend tonight the 4th till the morning of the 6th. Will be fishing the nags head pier. What has been biting the past couple days? What are we looking at as far as water temps? And what bait are the fish biting on?
  4. Hey there, this weekend I plan on doing some surf fishing out of oregon inlet. I am fairly new to yakk'n, and have never actually fished or been as far south as oregon inlet. Can anyone tell me what kind of surf conditions is to be expected this weekend down there? and any pointers for a newbie to get the yak out without being knocked over
  5. after all this talk, and trip to the tackle shop to get re strung, new tackle everything, I left my new bag of tackle, along with my 6' rod and 113 reel back in richmond....guess ill make a list next time..
  6. Sorry to ressurect an old thread...but im quite curious if you found out what was giving you grief around your house?
  7. Hmmmm, sling shot sounds like a good idea! Thanks
  8. Unfortunately I am only down from 7/24 - 7/26 as it is a weekend getaway for me and my girlfriend. So we will be staying in a motel.
  9. maybe ill offer someone some beer to yak it out for me lol
  10. I fished for hours there...didnt catch a thing...spend about 4 hours each day...about the only excitement was the 8 - 10 young kids destroying peoples campers behind the dock....had to run the smart mouth little bastards off...whats with kids theses days? wheres the parents? anyways...i say other people catching stuff...someone got spooled...wasnt sure what it was...saw a 5 ft sharks minutes prior to it, so I assume either a ray or that shark I saw.
  11. accidenatlly posted twice, cant seem to be able to delete my thread either :-s
  12. After finding out tonight that shark fishing is legal off the beach in Dare County, after being told that it isnt hehe, i've decided to take a trip down to OBX the weekend of 7/24 - 7/26. As I have no experience in a kayak, and I am quite horrid at casting on my conventional Penn 113(cant seem to cast without catching a birdsnest)....what are some good ways of getting the bait out 50-100 yards? i've heard of milk jugs, kites, trashbags, cardboard boxes being used, but am not real familiar with how to get them to work, or work with the current. Any advice, or point in the right direction would be great and helpful! Thank you for your time! Tight Lines! TheGreenOne Firefighter/EMT
