  1. Very slow and very small in the usual haunts. Last year numbers were way down, but sizes were up. I wonder if this 7 year run we've had is over now except for a sporadic catch here and there????
  2. Paul- don't tell my boss I was there! Jay-Don't worry, none of those spots ever get put down on paper. mz
  3. I know there's one called Fort Trumbull, not sure if that's the one you're thinking of.
  4. I don't fish there but the internet sucks for just this reason!
  5. My favorite topic The only thing I'll say is that you have to be very "creative" in CT. MZ
  6. Eel is my favorite, but I also like the black and black & purple. Pink & white has worked on bright nights.
  7. Fish them and be confident. They do catch fish, probably the best lure for me other than skin plug. They cast very well for a jointed lure. Make sure you have a nice rythmic pulse when retrieving, thats when it is working properly. They don't seem to work too well in strong current though. Some do now have cracks that run along the back, but it doesnt seem to diminish the action or affect the strength of the plug. Change the hooks to 3/0 VMC. Good luck!
  8. Thanks for the info guys, it'll help me get going in the right direction. Marc Z
  9. Anybody know how to get info on right of ways in a certain town???? I figure some office in the town hall probably has the info, but just don't know where to start. I don't know if they would have a list or if you need to know where a right of way may be and then look it up somehow. Just angling for more access without tresspassing. Thanks, Marc Z
  10. You guys makin fun of me????
  11. Jim no sweat this isn't a fight, it wasn't ever meant to be. Ive been around this site for a long time like since it started and even before that, and I have learned a lot over the years from the people who do contribute. But I have to say that I came here to learn about things other than spots. And that is partly why I don't contribute much anymore because it has changed from guys sharing info and learning to "hey look what I caught and where". So that's porbably why I snapped at Mike. And by the way Mike you did not give a specific location, my bad. But that leads to the problem at hand here that there are tons of lurkers out there who read this stuff and man they are good at figuring things out even when not specific. Again, this was no secret thing I was into here and I have no problem telling your buddies where you are doing good but the net is just too big and wide open to put up locations unless you want lots of company. By the way, Sunday night 4 guys fishing, Monday 5 or so, Tuesday 8 maybe, tonight 20 guys, crowded and no weaks.
  12. Mike, No private club here, in fact I haven't posted here in ages, so I'm not really part of it any more, but I check in once in a while. I didn't post to start a pissing contest but I'll just say it one more time. More than the regulars that contribute here read this forum, so if you don't want hordes of people at the spot where you're hittin em good, just call your buddies on the phone or send em an e-mail to let em know. That's it I'm done! See you all at the spot around 7 tonight.
  13. Joe and James I understand what you're saying and I did say that its not the regulars here and that I got no problem sharing with your friends by phone or e-mail, but the bottom line here is that this post says "hey everybody we are catching fish in Milford". If you are going to call your friends or e-mail them, then why put up a post????? By the way Joe, I havn't seen you around any meetings lately. Good luck at Cuttyhunk! I'll be across the sound from you then.
  14. Was not directed at the guys who regularly post here, but the millions of people who don't contribute here but just surf for info on where to catch fish only. Although the exact location was not mentioned, you'd be surprised as to how smart these guys are at reading between the lines and finding out exactly where you are talking about. Already there are more guys at this spot now since when the bite started. Just be careful what you post about where you are catching fish unless you want lots of company.
  15. Excellent, now there will be a million internet knuckleheads down there. It amazes me as to why people feel the need to blab on the internet about where they just caught fish. Fine, tell a couple of your buddies but call em on the phone or send an e-mail.
