  1. Jeez! You've done it again - my first LOL of the day!
  2. You might want to think about a full-face mask next time....
  3. "uphill both ways in the snow with no shoes" Good one! Always cracks me up, how "tough us old guys had it". In truth, the 40's and 50's were great times to be a kid.

  5. That might be it. I'll have to do some digging later on...
  6. Yup! I was an Al Banx fan. I do remember most of the writers you mentioned. Mark Blazis was certainly one of the best and well-educated of the bunch. Sad that he passed so young.(relatively speaking) Way back, there was another outdoor writer. I'm trying to remember his name. I'm thinking his first name was Russell and he went on to become editor. It was one of his articles that led me to one of the best bass-fishing spots in the county. One of many that's been destroyed by internet spot-burners...
  7. Bob, I totally agree. It's probably 10% of what it used to be, overpriced and is probably doomed. Ditto on the outdoor writers, they had some good ones over the years. SOL fills that void. I'll probably not re-subscribe if, and when it becomes available. Like so many things in life, it's hard to let go and accept change. I enjoy a couple other online newspaper subscriptions. And, I'll continue the digital T & G for the local obits - aka "The Irish sports page".
  8. Thanks for letting me know I'm not the last person getting the newspaper delivered! Sadly, my fantastic delivery person retired on Jan.1 and the Worcester T & G has not found a replacement. Until they do, I'm forced to read the on-line version. Yuck. It's hard to break a lifetime habit - I started reading that paper when I was delivering it around 1953.
  9. Ha! Kmart snorkel coat and Wonder Bread bags - thanks for the memories.
