  10. Nice fish Dave! Wish I knew you were down there, I just got home from there for 4 days.
  11. Most of my spring was spent chasing other species rather than striper. Figured I'd give them a bit of a break, though it was tough. But my dad, 71, just went through back surgery and a hip replacement over the winter and had said he really wanted to catch a nice striper this year. So we made plans to get down a couple days in May. We worked a lot of good looking water and the bite was tough. Had one evening that some smaller blacks moved in and picked up 5 of them in about 45 minutes. Then we finally caught a break one morning and got a good bend, that wasn't a ray, and he got a decent 24#er on the beach. Picked up 2 more decent blacks after that and that was it. He was as happy as could be with that fish, his smile said it all. It's always awesome getting him out in the salt and putting him on fish. To have the roll reversed for the countless times we went when I was young in the reservoirs and rivers near us. Knowing how he felt when I would get a nice smallmouth or whatever we were fishing for.
  12. Good God Lucky! That flea is ginormous! Nice fish too bud.
  13. Schoolies are a lot of fun on a 3wt.
  14. Yeah, social media has by far surpassed the message boards. There's the solution to real time reports, just sick the tavernites on anyone that does!
  15. It used to show how many people were viewing a certain forum, members and non members. The non members seemed to always double the amount of members. When I looked at the main page just now there have been 439 members on this site, not just delmarva, in the past hour. So let's say with non members included around 1000 people total. Just for argument sake let's say 10 percent checked out this forum. There's 100 people in the last hour.
  16. Working on a Century Fly 8/9wt, using pacbay minima guides. Hoping to put it to use next week.
  17. Here's a decent one on the fly from the other day. Linesider, there are definitely some big fish in the places I've been hitting. I just haven't found them yet, but I also haven't been fishing it at night. The big baits are there, deep holes that are over my head, and lots of log jams, lay downs, and rocks for them to hide in. Just need to get out there at night after a good rain to raise and dirty the water. They stock this stream with fingerlings only, so these fish are about as close to wild as it gets. Been scouting new sections with the spinning rod to see how fly friendly they are. If I can, I come back a week or two later with the fairy wand. It's been close to 30 years since I seriously put time in with the long rod so my casts and presentations are not what they once were. But I'm still finding a few dumb fish that think my lack luster ties are good enough to eat. As frustrating as it gets some days, when I finally get one to eat, it really gets me fired up. Makes me forget how numb my toes and fingers are.
  18. Building Zoie one in hopes that she'll come along with me more.
  19. Here's what I've been doing this winter, chasing browns. This one was pretty cool, has about an 8" chub he can't even choke down but was still eating.
  20. Damn. I haven't been on here much of late and to hear of this is just terrible. I've been sitting here trying to think of what to say but I'm not sure. Earl was one of a few people I always made sure I stopped and talked to in my haste to find the perfect spot to fish. I really need to slow down a little and do that more with so many of the fine folks that are staples on AI and in the fishing community. It's really gonna be tough this spring not seeing him with the rest of the AARP gang. But I will make it a point to slow down a little while scanning the waters to BS a little more with you guys. You will be greatly missed Earl.
  21. That light only comes on when on the beach, I don't drive around with it on. Plus in order for it to come on I need to have running lights on. So, no confusion and no problems with law enforcement.
  22. Here's something I did a little while back. Yes, they are leds, but I pit a red filter over them. Have them wired into my fog lights, which I disconnected. So when running the beach I still have enough light to avoid running over kids screwing on the beach, but don't lose my night vision or screw up anyone else's.
  23. Asking $100 shipped PayPal. They all have light use and the bullet was spray bombed, it's original color is sandeel.
  24. That works for me.
  25. The black is 5.25" and weighs 1.7 oz. The bullet is 4.5" and weighs 2.5 oz.
