  1. Out early Monday up by Nahant, marked quite a few fish, nothing hitting any technique. Did not have clams, but there were smashed up shells all over the surface of the water. Surface temps around 61 at 7AM.
  2. I've pretty much caught anything you can imagine off of the dock on Woerd before. Including a 16" eel. And now that I've pulled the floor out of my boat, it'll probably be a couple of weeks of sitting on that dock again like the days pre-boat. It is tough now though. It's just too warm for any good action.
  3. I've never caught one from shore mainly because to get to the pikey areas you would probably sink in marsh muck before you could get where you need to be. But when the marsh muck freezes...there's your opportunity. Which reminds me, does anyone know where one would have to go to get a permit to ice fish on the Charles? Thanks! I'm going to have to snag up a couple sunfish and give it a shot. Do you find the piking to be better early AM or in the evening?
  4. I always make sure that I have something with at least a bright tail on my hook in the Charles. Outside of the Hudson, that is the dirtiest water I've ever fished. Meh, once I get back from the Carribean it'll be time to get back out there looking for stripers anyway. Does anybody know of any good spots on the Charles up the Waltham/Newton way for Pike? I assume this time of year there isn't going to be anything going, but I'd love to get into some of those buggers and not have to yank them through an 8" hole in the ice.
  5. Just this week I started getting hits again above the Moody St. dam on black rubber worms with red or silver speckles and bright tails hooked weedless down the middle of the river.
  6. What in this post is an arrestable offense? You guys on here sure do whine a lot more than you talk about fishing. Canal this, canal that, stay out of our water, no we can't give you tips. Seriously, if any of the guys I fish with ever whined nearly as much as you guys they would find themselves off my boat faster than they could say "the canal."
  7. If you drive long enough on Sea St. in Quincy, you'll find it.
  8. Not to mention the commuter rail going through there.
