    cobo reel

Picked up a cabo 40 for the wife to use on a 7'boat rod when they first came out two years ago at the same time I bought myself a Sustain 5000 for a 7'boat we both use these reels in the surf in the fall on 9'surf rods. The cabo has performed great not a single problem. The sustain had to go back for repair after year one (lost anti-reverse)and has to go back now for the same reason.
  3. Laqmiglas uses fuji Hardloy guides on there rods very reasonable price also very dependable and durable my guess is that if they had used a higher priced guide lets say fuji sic on that 1322 you would have more cracked or chiped guides to deal with.
  4. Swam a popper with teaser in a hole Sat AM early fish hitting almost every cast landing one every other cast mostly small 22-26" had about 4 keeper size mixed in. As tide rose pushing me back kept getting harder to hit hole but fish were there all morning.

  6. You would get a lot more feed back by posting this in the rod building forum
  7. I might be up to giving it a try. Haven't read the article yet but does it have to be a night thing
  8. Great choice and not to bad on the pocket book either. You,ll be happy
  9. Guild Conclave in Tennessee been there met a lot of interesting and knowledgeable people if I remember right it was there second year conclave. But found way to many people into fresh water and fly rods which is fine but just not where my interest lies.I have been to the last 3 rodcrafters in CT plus one in PA. PA was great I met a lot of top names in the rod building world there from all over the country. I haven't seen the secluded for the CT rodcrafters this year yet but feel for the most part it will the same people giving the same demonstrations as in years past. Al through I always come away with some new knowledge and new friends it's just a most bang for the buck thing this year which brings me to the NERDS. For the price of a coffee cake and a couple gallons of gas I can spend the day with some great builders who will give me many hours of stimulating thought. Now if they could only get rid of that NERDS thing.

  13. Nice job I have bought way to many old rods at flea markets / yard sales. Just not enought time to rebuild.
