  1. Good buy! Heckuva rod from an even better builder ...glad you got it, cuz I was gettin ready to pull the trigger! One of them Abu 5500's you have will sit on it nicely. Just bought an AR-15, so Im done for a while anyway.
  2. If I may ask, whats so special about that reel that it costs that much?! I can get 6 Daiwa Tierras for that money and do just as well I would like to think. JMHO.
  3. Yeah Im definately gonna fish it this year, its been 6 years since I last went. I can gaurentee NE winds 25+ and current that'll roll engine blocks when I get there!
  4. Yeah I seen em eatin flounders in 30' of water at the CBBT once ...didnt have a rod rigged to throw at em either Won't make that mistake again, you can be sure of it. Kenny, heard tell and seen some pics of some 80#+ Blue Cats being caught up here recently, biggest was 87# 54"x34" Adam
  5. I used the cannonball some this weekend for the first time, and it did seem to throw farthur which was good. The taylor Blues were in thick, and I missed every one that bit that rig, so I switched back to a standard fish finder and caught every one that hit that rig. Maybe it was just the bluefish hitting so fast? I did get some doggies on the cannonball and all were hooked where they were sposed to be. Not sure what the deal was. I'll try it again in a couple weeks, but my short fish-finders have caught many drum ...like DD says, "if it aint broke, dont fix it." Adam
  6. How many of them things do you have John?????
  7. I believe the rules say the first post with an "I'll Take It," gets it ... "Very Interested" and "I'll Take It" are very different. Sooooo, Staktup has it as far as the rules go, correct ...sorry Mike. Staktup, you have a PM. Adam
  8. Very Good condition, only been used once by me since Ive had it. Green sideplates, power handle, 14# Sufix Tri+, Smoothie drags with flat metal washers as well. Has one small ding under the mag slider that you really cant even see. I dont have any pics, sorry. $110 shipped Thanks!
  9. Can you say Duramax? 17.2mpg city 20.5 hiway, and its only got 2500 miles on it, so its gonna get better Adam
  10. Ok, I notice many of you northern Striper guys are using 7000 class reels, big spinners, 30# mono(or 50-60# braid), fiberglass rods ...generally heavy tackle for Stripers. Down here, we catch em on 6500 Abus, 525's, 14-17# mono(20# is tops), lighter rods ...we use the same tackle for Stripers that we use for Spanish Macks and Sea-Mullet, unless we're bait fishing, then we use the heavers, but still the smaller reels and line. Stripers dont fight very hard compared to other fish down here(Cobia, Drum), so my question for you our northern bretheren, is why all the HEAVY stuff? Is it because of the beach structure or what? Not trying to start a tirade, Im just curious. Thanks! Adam
  11. Broke a thumbscrew off in the frame of my 400s ...sent it back a month ago to Shimano and aint heard a word back yet, kinda got me worried. Adam
  12. Yep. I own the All-Star 1418 and it does lovely with 6-bait and big lures. Ive thrown the RS1418 with 6-bait and it does just as good.
