  1. Trpical Fnm concept....blame all the current problems on old men that aren't even in power anymore..If it wasn't Bush, it must of been Greenspan, right, Fnm?
  2. Check out the last lines....and wonder what is going to happen to our overtaxed country. Have we always been so complacent to allow others to rule our lives? Or is complacency a partner with affluence, and indulgence? Not that I would ever expect anyone to "give it up", but where is it leading us? And what kind of world will we have where government takes all we "are", and dictates what our lives will be? The Tax Poem Tax his land , Tax his bed , Tax the table At which he's fed. Tax his tractor , Tax his mule, Teach him taxes Are the rule. Tax his work , Tax his pay , He works for peanuts; Anyway! Tax his cow , Tax his goat , Tax his pants , and Tax his coat. Tax his ties , Tax his shirt , Tax his work , Tax his dirt. Tax his tobacco , Tax his drink , Tax him if he Tries to think. Tax his cigars , Tax his beers, if he cries, Tax his tears. Tax his car , Tax his gas , Find other ways To tax his ass. Tax all he has Then let him know That you won't be done Till he has no dough. When he screams and hollers; Then tax him some more, Tax him till He's good and sore. Then tax his coffin, Tax his grave, Tax the sod in Which he's laid. Put these words Upon his tomb, 'Taxes drove me to my doom...' When he's gone, Do not relax, Its time to apply The inheritance tax. Not one of these taxes existed 100 years ago, and our nation was the most prosperous in the world.. We had absolutely no national debt, had the largest middle class in the world, and Mom stayed home to raise the kids. What happened? Can you spell 'politicians?'
  3. True, I never bought it!
  4. Can't hear crickets anymore....just Fnm's silence.....
  5. The master of evasion....another Teddy Kennedy!
  6. I don't think he wants to answer the question....maybe a guilty conscience... hitting too close to home, Hawker!
  7. Seems like it's becoming a two class system...those who don't, who wind up with the wealth, and those who do, who are subjects of the nobility.(politicians)
  8. So do your employers know, or care?
  9. Looks like she could kindle my fires any day, and twice on Sundays....
  10. Hahahahahhahhhah....good one, Otter......as long as I'm standing behind you....I'm with you........
  11. Down in Florida, they are called "fatbacks"....
  12. I don't think so, Jonesy....Not that I have a right to speak for the whole party, but basically if "we" want Obama to fail, we want him to "fail" to turn this country into a strong socialist state, with big government looking over your shoulder, and telling you which and every step to take...It's already getting there fast, and in fact if you had transplanted one of the founding fathers here from the past, they would think we were already worst than we were when we had England telling us what to do....The irrevokable American spirit is "Independance, and Freedom", and not "how much is the government going to give us today"....And we all know that when someone is giving us the money from the government, they are giving us the shaft to go with it! Good point, Fnm, but weren't you the one who wanted to turn the car around when Bush was driving?
  13. Let's just hope that no one tolerates this law...there is still a rule of justice called "civil disobedience"... HR 45, Blair Holt Licensing and Record Act This is provided as information that should alarm most of you. The air has not yet stilled from the peaceful change of power in this country and already the Democrats have marshalled the anti-gun forces to license and fingerprint you into a National Database of gun owners. Note that there is no National Database of Convicted Felons and those who have lost their citizen's rights to gun ownership, but there will be one that seeks to make you either a dupe or a felon if this law is passed. I request and suggest that you contact your elected representatives to voice your opposition to this bill to abridge your Rights. Note that the original author of this bill is Rahm Emanuel. Subject: Are you ready for this?? Are you ready for the House Bill titled 'HR 45, Blair Holt Licensing and Record Act of 2009'. It will make it illegal to own a firearm unless it is registered with the database in Washington D.C. As a gun owner you will have to be finger printed, you will be required to provide your DL#, SS#, you must maintain a valid address at all times, submit to mental and physical health records being put on file, you will also be required to file any address changes and any ownership changes even if a private sale. Each update will cost $25 and if you fail to comply you will lose your right to own firearms. This bill and its language mirror almost completely one defeated last year in the House of Representatives by soon to be Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel. Will we the citizenry be as lucky this time? Pass this on to everyone who believes in strict Constitutionalism and remember that laws only apply to those who obey them. Criminals by definition and nature do not abide by laws. New laws and restrictions only apply to the law abiding citizen and are not written with the criminal in mind. With guns, it is not about having laws on the books to prosecute individuals, it is about taking guns away from the people so that no one has them in the first place. One last item to note, when assuming power and creating a facist state, Hitler was a proponent of strong gun laws because a disarmed populace was much easier to control than an armed one. The kings of old also outlawed weapons of any kind in any region that they conquered to quell the ability of the citizens to uprise against them. The Founding Fathers of this nation understood all of the above and because of this they included the second amendment in the constitution. In fact, they knew that at some point in every society's life span that the need for the population to arise came about. To this end they made the right to keep and bear arms against a tyrannical state an absolute right that could not be revoked. They did this because the first thing tyrants and despots do is to remove a population's right to defend themselves. When this is done, the tyrants have no problem with the destruction of society as we know it. Send this on to all true patriots! Protect your Second Amendment! The following is a summary of the bill as provided by the Congressional Research Service. If you read the whole bill, you'll find it will effectively preclude the ownership of ANY firearms by law-abiding people unless licensed by the Attorney General. How long do you think THAT would take?? Congressional Research Service Summary The following summary was written by the Congressional Research Service, a well-respected nonpartisan arm of the Library of Congress. GovTrack did not write and has no control over these summaries. 1/6/2009--Introduced. Blair Holt's Firearm Licensing and Record of Sale Act of 2009 - Amends the Brady Handgun Violence Prevention Act to prohibit a person from possessing a firearm unless that person has been issued a firearm license under this Act or a state system certified under this Act and such license has not been invalidated or revoked. Prescribes license application, issuance, and renewal requirements. Prohibits transferring or receiving a qualifying firearm unless the recipient presents a valid firearms license, the license is verified, and the dealer records a tracking authorization number. Prescribes firearms transfer reporting and record keeping requirements. Directs the Attorney General to establish and maintain a federal record of sale system. Prohibits: (1) transferring a firearm to any person other than a licensee, unless the transfer is processed through a licensed dealer in accordance with national instant criminal background check system requirements, with exceptions; (2) a licensed manufacturer or dealer from failing to comply with reporting and record keeping requirements of this Act; (3) failing to report the loss or theft of the firearm to the Attorney General within 72 hours; (4) failing to report to the Attorney General an address change within 60 days; or (5) keeping a loaded firearm, or an unloaded firearm and ammunition for the firearm, knowingly or recklessly disregarding the risk that a child is capable of gaining access, if a child uses the firearm and causes death or serious bodily injury. Prescribes criminal penalties for violations of firearms provisions covered by this Act. Directs the Attorney General to: (1) establish and maintain a firearm injury information clearing house; (2) conduct continuing studies and investigations of firearm-related deaths and injuries; and (3) collect and maintain current production and sales figures of each licensed manufacturer. Authorizes the Attorney General to certify state firearm licensing or record of sale systems.
  14. Thought this was supposed to stay in the Tavern....but likwid seems to want to irritate anyone who has religion, especially Christianity...Personally, likwid, I don't know any religion that encourages children abuse, but I do know what Christ said about those who "offend" children, and that is that it would be better for them if a millstone was hung around their neck and they were cast into the sea.......and personally, I would hope that they died from a thousand small bites from the tinest sharks, and it lasted through the longest night. Next time, likwid, pick on the big boys, your presence with the kids is questionable.
  15. NUG abbr. necrotizing ulcerative gingivitis?
  16. apropos..about a half-baked brain... And God grows the "death angel" mushrooms, too.....
  17. Good shark bait....or just bounce it off the wall a time or two, and it won't get on your bed in the morning....
  18. The age old saying was, "beware the one gun man"....someone who practiced and used just one, got real good with that one...When I was younger, I got a Marlin lever action .22, which was the same weight and balance as my Winchester 94, and practiced and hunted small game with the .22....I got so good I could shoot aspirins out of the air with either one... Practice makes perfect....or at least good enough! I always wanted a 99, myself..in .308 or .358, they're both great calibers, but more than in needed in Florida, where a .30-30 was all you need. But save your .308 brass....one pass through a re sizer, and you've got .358 brass.... Now, I use a 94 Winchester for a "jump gun" and a scoped .308 M70 for long, open shots...
  19. Ever think about indoor plumbing?....How about that indoor heating, too? Yeah, I let the house get cold, too.....(saves money...)
  20. I thought you forgot the "&", for the old A & P grocery stores....
  21. No, I don't think they are bad any more than anyone else, but they are extremely "vexing" to have to work with...especially when they don't do work that reflects responsibility....others can suffer for their irresponsibility.
  22. Yup, whenever they get that big, there is enough to make a meal...the small ones are just too much trouble eating around the bones. Unless, like the colored folks, you boil the meat off the bones, separate it, then make fishcakes out of it. I've got a good bullfrog pond in the back of my place that has some dandies...and I love frog legs...My neighbor use to eat the whole frog...he said I was just wasting meat. He grew up dirt poor in Oklahoma..and he remembered the poor times as being the most memorable, even though they were hard....
  23. Snake racists! (you might say)
  24. Inherent, innate, insane, paranoid, and blown out of proportion......sorta like flying for some...and they're not as smart as coyotes, when it comes to avoiding humans...so their populations suffer, even the non-venomous versions..
