  1. Fished 2 1/2 days last week. Got a 40 and a 23 1/2 Striper. Oh wait. Got one Skate too. Lol. Used Peelers, Fleas/Fishbite combo and Bunker. Both Stripers were on the Fleas/Fishbite combo. That's it for me for spring. Might come back in July to take the dog out to see how he does in the ocean
  2. Couldn't agree more. Glad you got out.
  3. I complete agree with Seabassplug. Please be careful. Even if it looks shallow, the mud can be super soft and can trip you up quick. The rocks are in the water are super slick too. Even with spikes on my wader boots, I have had my share of close calls.
  4. I've heard the Stripers are still in the DC area but I can't remember if DC waters has the closure for Stripers right now. Not sure if the are still up by Fletchers now. I've heard down by Haines Point and the Woodrow Wilson bridge.
  5. Shad are running good right now. Have gone the past 2 weekends. You can catch them just about any where but obviously, some spots are better than others. I was at one spot 10 feet away from another fisherman and he out fished me 15 to 1. It was very frustrating. The next outing, I was able to fish one of my favorite spots and did very well. Caught on tandom rigs. Switched from 2 Darts to 1 dart and spoon. Both seemed to work equally.
  6. Nice catch Pilotman. I should have gone to the Potomac instead of the PAX. Walked a section of the PAX above Tridelphia for a few hours. Nothing but Fallfish and Creek Chubs. Had a few Trout chase my offering but no takers. It was good to be out nevertheless.
  7. Thanks Surfman. I must have a few beers in me and missed the 1 when copying and pasting. Lol. :-)
  8. This is the number I have for him. 302-545-305. He made mine a few years ago.
  9. Hi Nycedreamz, How old is it and how often did you have the drive serviced? Nice looking Kayak
  10. Not sure if you got your parts or not but I used this site to get parts for my Shimano Fliegen. https://www.plat.co.jp/shop/catalog/optionparts/language/en/?manufacturers=&siries=&search= Not sure if adding a link breaks the rules and if it gets stripped out, send me a PM and I'll send it to you
  11. I guess you have another fishing partner. Congrats!!!
  12. Marcus. Thanks for the Peelers. We really appreciated it. Also, thanks for taking the time to show us some of your gear. Pretty cool stuff. Unfortunately, we did not have much luck. We managed skates, Whiting and some other bait fish though my buddy Paul managed a short Striper. Glad to have gotten back out after being out for a year after shoulder surgery.
  13. Sold to ThuanTran. Thank you.
  14. Used it a handle full of times for one season. Still have the box. I believe it's spooled with 40lbs PP which is still new. It sat for the past 2 years due to shoulder surgery. Asking 75.00 plus shipping. Thanks for looking.
  15. How about meeting me half way? $67 plus shipping?
  16. Not trying to be a smart ars but you might want to change the title of this thread. I skipped it a few times thinking it was about "shoes" and not shows. Not sure if you made it to the one in Frederick but that's a decent one. I do believe there is one in Annapolis and Kent Island coming up in the next month or so. *
  17. I'm surprised no one has jumped on this. I wish I could but funds are low due to my dog needing surgery.
  18. Great deal. Missed this one.
  19. Frederick, Md.
  20. I was going to say that area looks familiar. Congrats and good luck
  21. Wow. That's amazing. Thanks for sharing.
  22. Ft Washington and Piscataway Colonial Farms used to be my go to places back in the day to catch Big Cats, Bass, Crappie, Yellow Perch and White Perch. During the spring we used be catch and release Rockfish during the spring. Great places to fish for sure. Rarely went back after the end of the pier (Piscataway) was closed for a while and they seemed to stop trimming the trees near the light house at Fort Washington. Bass boats would fish the same areas and would keep tangling my surf lines and they would also be in the way for me to cast my lures for bass. Just wasn't fun there anymore. Not sure how it is now. Best of luck out in Annapolis. You may want to consider Point Lookout. I hear Spot are in so you may want to check that out too though it's further. I may get a chance this weekend since I'll be down that way for my daughters State swim meet. Tight Lines.
  23. I haven't caught one (Snakehead) yet so I guess I haven't had to make that choice yet. Lol. I've heard the smaller Blue Cats in the less the 5lbs are good to eat. I haven't had one in years. I could never figure out how to get the "muddy flavor" out. I'm not big into eating LM Bass either. Just had an odd flavor to me. I am a huge fan of Bluegills and Crappie but not sure I'd eat those out of the Potomac either unless it was further up river or way down river. I guess any fish that is resident there will build up toxins after a few years. It's a shame because it's such a great place to catch a variety of fish.
  24. You might be ok eating the migratory fish such as White Perch and Yellow Perch but I would not eat the resident fish in the Potomac and especially the Anacostia. Though people are eating Snakeheads out of the Potomac and Anacostia.
  25. Ouch. Looks bad. Get well soon.
