    Big Dave

Big Dave has asked me to let you all know that he will not be able to contact anyone at the moment because of a health problem; he wanted to reassure those that he had been communicating with that he will get back to you as soon as possible. Keep him in your prayers. Regards Nickaway

  5. Great post mates. I was at the Henrys show and had the pleasure to meet with the owner of M&B tackle from up that way. I told him that Big Dave had cast over the Cannel. The sales man form Henrys said no way, No one has cast over the cannel. So if any of you go into M&B, you can now confirm what I said. Regards Nickaway. Dave I will have a crack at that when I am with you in the spring.
  6. I have just be informed by Joe Moore (Sportcast USA) Rule: Section 2, Paragraph A #2 B. Bearings may be replaced only with equal quality and size as the original. Has been deleted from the rules. This makes the Ceramic bearings legal. On behalf of all members of Sportcast USA thanks to the committee. Regards Nickaway

  11. Wildbob. Check this out. On behalf of the SFCCI, Brenda and I attended a meeting of a group that has been formed called SOS: Save Our Seashore. There were 25 individuals that attended, representing concerned citizens and groups like the Sierra Club and others. It was recognized that the threat of the bombing range and training on Padre Island National Seashore is not a closed issue. Jock Whitworth, Superintendent of PINS, discussed the fact that there are constant threats to the seashore. One such threat that was discussed was the Space Port that is proposed for Kennedy County. We were lucky enough to receive insight into the suitability study already done which shows this is a suitable sight. The space port will be a commercial enterprise that would be used up to 2 times per week. Unfortunately for us, the flight path will be directly over marker 36, closing it for each launch period. The same closure would effect Baffin Bay and the Intercoastal. He did emphasize that it would be closed only on either side of the launch. (1 mile wide) It was then pointed out that a proposed launch at 11 AM Tuesday may not actually launch until 5PM Friday. This is definitely a threat!! There has been a day of action chosen, August 17, where you need to contact all representatives to state your feelings on the bombing issue. Here in Corpus, we will be focusing on contacting Solomon Ortiz. We will get back with the local address and phone number, etc. I did invite people to sign our petition and message board as a method of communication. SOS will hold another meeting in 2 months. I recommend that all possible should attend. Keep up the good work, mates. I'll keep you updated on anything that happens. Regards, Nickaway and Brenda PS. Surfgirl will be with me also.
  12. Thanks Bill, I had it on my favorites but the name was wrong for some reason. I will make a point of coming to the board as I think its great. Do any of you know a Hotel that is near the Sports Authority that we will be at. Something like a Super 8 or a motel 6. Regards Nickaway PS. Surfgirl will be with me also.
