Preliminary Summer Flounder Regulation Information
jetty eddy replied to squidder 329's topic in New Jersey Fishing
What I can't get over is why does ibsp get a lower size? -
filling in the beach by the national guard in sea girt.

Anyone know what they are doing?
-
Great fisherman use the same spots as anyone else. The difference is they have the experience and brains to know when the fish are likely to be there.(I'm not one of them)
-
I saw one being used but the nose taper was even thinner and the rear maybe a tad fatter.
-
well you can forget the card part as far as I see.
-
the bass love that color.
-
you have to register.
-
My fingers get cold quick. A tight knit wool glove for the outer glove and a smaller womens or child glove that you can get your hand into of wool also. You can use heater packs between the gloves when needed.
-
They changed where you register from. It used to be only saltwater registry but now you have to go through the state wildlife site.Unless you are a current license holder for trapping.hunting etc you must set up an account and do a bunch of those capta things.

WOW! There's nothing like a bureaucracy(had to google the spelling on that one)to ruin a previous good and easy process!

Ended my season on a good note. I got 1 22" on a teaser and then had 1 come off on the next cast. That was it. A whale was putting on a good show. Some loons and a few gannets around also. I did see some surface action further than I could cast but I think it was shad.
-
Gave it a 1/2 hour this morning but nada. The loons are there but not many. I saw a few gannets also and some whale spouts way off. Tried avas in 3 different colors and thats it.
-
I'm looking at the web cams and I'm not seeing any loons close to the beach. I suspect the sandeels moved out and I'm not sure if they will return. I did see a whale so I know that there is some bigger bait around.I still haven't seen any gannets and that's a mystery.I may not fish anymore but I'm leaning towards that there will be more fish coming.

I thought I respected his space and stayed out of his way and if I was the muggee thats the way I would like it.Mugging ettiquette 101.

The SKUNK IS DEAD!!!!. I respectfully mugged another fisherman on a jetty and caught 4 bass. The first was a fat 33_34" and the others less than 28 but 1 was close. Avas and teaser pass the bar. Whale putting a good show gulping up the bigger bunker.
-
I believe that there are more fish coming. I loaded a 7' light rod and my goal now is to catch a dink throwing smalls to avoid a COMPLETE FALL SKUNK!!!!!!!!!
-
My trips are normally an hour or so if there aren't any signs of fish. I only live 9 miles to the closest beach. I'll be 70 in January and I certainly don't run down any beaches anymore trying to keep up with fish.
-
For half of those outings there were big bunker and whales and dolphins and the fleet just a little too far to hook up. I use what everybody else uses.avas with tails, needlefish, bombers, sps, poppers, metal, teasers, etc(not a fan of teasers even though I've caught tons of fish on them). During these outings I have seen only 3 fish caught and 2 of those were by the same teenager.

Still no fish for me in 30 outings since september. I saw some birds 3/4 mile out feeding until they were dispersed by a boat. Drove from one inlet to another checking the beach for signs but ng. I'm going to keep trying at least for the gannets to arrive. Never had a fall run like this.
-
fished this am 830-11. saw some fish under birds in a few places but Im still ofer the fall. Maybe tomorrow.
-
First time out in a week and a short outing it was.I don't see any signs of any life in the water except loons. No fisherman either.I know the small ones will be coming though and maybe I can avoid this fall skunk. I haven't had a skunk in a fall run in 30 years except for when I had some health issues.

Gannets?
