  1. Do you have a picture of this, for the life of me I cannot picture this,
  2. 83 miles one way, an hour and a half if I'm lucky... which over the last 6-8 months isn't often. Ride in has been on average two hours a day for months, ride home has been better... until summer gets here.
  3. If they don't take a cut off the top of it, then the standard is 10%. If they take it off of the top then nothing.
  4. They eye candy isn't bad either... pick the right treadmill and you're set. Won't get views like that on your own treadmill or walking in the dark.
  5. I have the same plan, there is a yearly fee of something like $40 bucks but you won't have it until next year. At least that is what I get charged. $10.66 per month and the once a year fee. Still cheap enough. And it would be good for what you are looking to do.
  6. Would have to assume that they are thinking it weighs 100 pounds because of the 100 pound capacity?
  7. So... I picked one of the funky round cucumbers over the weekend and tried it... it tasted like a cucumber lol, it did have a lot of seeds though. I picked a few and figure that I will peel them and scoop the seeds out and enjoy the rest of it. Here is a pic that I took after picking them. I have four cucumber plants growing. I picked three regular cucs and three round ones all of the same plants and here they all are for comparison along with some other veggies in the pic.
  8. Today I will be in the area of the farm market/greenhouse where I got the started cucumber plants from and I'm going to stop in and show them and see what they think is the issue. I'm still curious. I went away last week and prior to leaving my squash and zucchini were fine but when I got back stem borers found them and destroyed them all, way past salvage so I am taking them out. With that being said this will free up a little bit of space, is there anything that I can put in now for a late summer/early fall harvest. I figured I have the space so may as well use it.
  9. I will pick one over the next couple of days and give it a try. I hadn't even thought of doing that....
  10. Any recommendations?
  11. Yea it’s supposed to be a normal slicing type. I was googling it and it says can be too much watering or not enough watering or too much fertilizer or not enough fertilizer. Really, it was no help so I figured I would come here for first hand info. The cucumber in this pic is from the same plant.
  12. Does anyone have any idea what is going on with my cucumbers. I’m getting quite a few doing this and only a couple of normal ones, and they are coming from the same plants.
  13. Gardening is new for me... I had to google male and female flowers, yes, I only have males and haven't seen any females. I have had the male flowers for probably three weeks now. I have to kick myself for this, I was thinking bugs and totally overlooking the obvious critters. Time to fix my fence and see if that helps.
  14. I think I have some type of pest on my zucchini. Some of the stems look like they are cut off. It looks like a clean cut. I haven’t found anything similar on google yet. Any thoughts? My other issue is they don’t seem to be getting pollinated. Tons of big beautiful flowers but no fruit. The squash right next to them are doing fine. I may try to hand pollinate this weekend.
  15. Home depot has timers that have four zones so you can run four hoses with four sprinklers. You can set the timers to come on in succession for as long as you want them to run. They are relatively cheap and then its just whatever hoses and sprinklers you need. Just search hose timers and it comes right up.
  16. Youth day update: No deer were harmed. Hunted the morning with my daughter who passed her test the prior weekend. We were in an elevated blind. We didn't see a deer. She managed a decent nap in the tree. Some other son the property saw a couple does but it was slow. My son and my father popped a couple squirrels with my sons new pellet rifle and apparently this sparked an obsession of squirrel hunting for the two of them, grandpa is taking the boy out of school tomorrow and they are going again. Saturday afternoon the girl took off and I was in the same blind from the morning but this time with the boy. We saw one doe and she hung around for about an hour and a half. The funny part is I text my daughter that there is a doe. She asks if we shot it, I said no. I sent her a pic a bit later and she asks if we shot it, I said no. I said it's been here about 35 minutes and we are just watching it. Her text back cracked me up, Bruh, she would have been dead for 30 minutes by now... hahaha. She is ready to go again and is looking to kill.
  17. I'm pretty pumped... my 13 year old son has been hunting for 3 years, but this past Sunday my 12 year old daughter just passed her hunter's ed tests for guns and archery. We picked up her licenses yesterday. The youth gun day on Saturday cannot get here soon enough. I don't know which one of us is more excited... and based off of her comments yesterday there will be no waiting for a bigger doe or a buck, I feel bad for the first thing that walks out on Saturday.
  18. My daughter is 12 and my son is 13. For years my daughter called bs on the Easter bunny. She said it was too unbelievable to have a giant rabbit going around hiding eggs and leaving candy. She thought the big fat man in a red suit being pulled in a sleigh by flying reindeer as perfectly legit. Now they both the truth mainly from school and the bus, however, when they ask us which they still do we always deny it and will never confirm it. We tell them that Santa is real because it's not necessarily a person that is portrayed but it's everything involved with the holiday spirit. When we did tell him this he was legit balling over it, and he was 12 so it was pretty funny to see this big boy so upset over it. The fact that we got them both to believe for so long was excellent. All the cousins around the same age had to be told around the holidays not to say anything in front of them. It was fantastic. And what's really funny, is because we don't confirm it and tell them that if they stop believing in it then Santa stops coming... my daughter is like get a grip it's fake... but my son... well he isn't willing to take that chance hahaha.
  19. Got ya... hopefully my kids will eat it, if not I may have enough to freeze. It looks great though.
  20. Does this freeze well?
  21. I saw something this morning to the effect that gofundme is giving him some money while it is investigated and that they have something in place if this happens (insurance policy). They made it sound like he will get the money somehow, and I would have to assume his lawyers know this so they still get their piece.
  22. This is my first year with a garden and my garden sucks... I have a lot to learn. All of my stuff was planted Mother's Day weekend. It was all planted in organic top soil and I fertilized with miracle grow. I bought the following plants from home depot already started: 3 tomato plants - had one fruit total and something ate a hole in it. 2 eggplants - had one flower on each and they fell off. 2 red pepper - I currently have one pepper growing about the size of a tennis ball 3 cherry tomato - I got about 10 ripe ones that we ate and probably have 10 green ones still 4 jalepeno pepper - I had one pepper grow to about two inches and we picked it. I have one or two more tiny ones that are still growing 4 cucumber - the stems look crappy and dead but they are still growing and I have three bigger cucs already and a bunch of small ones. 6 silver queen corn (outside the garden) - three were destroyed by animals and weather and the other three are actually doing pretty good. I plated these from seed: 4 pole beans - plants are growing but still don't have a bean 4 zucchini - plants are growing and some flowers blossom but I am not getting any fruit basil (in a pot) - I have like four stems of basil with leaves 6 sunflower (outside the garden) - one got eaten and two got weedwacked but the remaining three are doing pretty good. And it's not even that they are not growing fruit, but the plants aren't even growing that well. They are not getting big and busy like everyone else that I see. I think I have a lot of work to do on my soil once this growing season is over.
  23. Ok thanks for the info, I’ll change up my watering habits. The soil is a load of organic top soil, I didn’t add anything additional and the way it looks is how it came.
  24. So.... this is my first time having a garden and I have some questions. I took a couple of pics and I’m not sure what is going on with my plants. I’m thinking maybe too much or too little water but I honestly have no idea. I’m watering them with an oscillating sprinkler every morning for fifteen minutes. This is in Ocean County. For the most part it seems like every day I have more and more yellow leaves on everything and they look pretty sad. The whole garden Eggplants Tomatoes Cucumbers String beans Thanks for any thoughts. Jared
