  1. Definitely not the same biomass of fish that we find in NJ, NY and New England. They winter over and spawn in many of the rivers in the maritimes, the Miramichi being one of the big ones.
  2. I heard they had found their way a little farther north than usual. Very cool that you got into em!
  3. The top one was a one off that ended up working really well so I had to make a couple more. The one below it is a clone in a different colour, then another single hook version with the weighting adjusted. The olive one is an attempt at a 7.5” version of the small swimmers I made a few weeks ago, then my first attempt at a jointed eel. They all swim really well but the second from top and the jointed are extra special.
  4. Ha! Ya, it’s a good one. I’m lucky to have some pretty good amps but this one might be the best. It’s on loan to me but I’m thoroughly enjoying it.
  5. Nice fish, and way more fun to catch them on your own stuff! I got to have a look at the banana plug when I saw Dave a few weeks ago. That thing is amazing.
  6. Also a disaster. Main rods are 9’ and 10’ which fit comfortably inside a Rav 4 so I took the roof racks off. Milk crate for plugs that are likely to get used, then a big shimano tackle bag with back up and lesser used stuff as well as a few tools in case I have to fix or tighten up something on a reel, cut a hook, or replace cracked guide/tip top. The rest is waders, backup waders, rain gear, boots, korkers and other miscellaneous stuff laying around that I find myself needing regularly. It’s chaos but for the most part I know where to find anything I might need.
  7. A little batch of small shallow divers (16a bomber and SP for scale) Cedar, Danny 1 mid slot lips and 4g belly weight. Epoxy sealed (thanks Dave) and 2 coats of etex. The idea is to have a thru wired plug with a belly swivel that can be used in similar applications as a plastic minnow plug. I made a single one to try out and and it worked even better than expected. Hoping these work the same.
  8. I bought a pack of the 1/0’s to use on minnow plugs. Super sharp, no issues with bending or breaking, and hooked fish seem to stay hooked. The barbs are smaller than what I’m used to with vmc and mustad but I think I prefer it. The only problem I’ve found is once they lose their point I have a really hard time getting them sharp again compared to the other hooks, which sucks because they’re expensive.
  9. A handful of small shallow divers. The prototype worked better than expected and is pretty much ruined. These ones will be epoxy sealed and hopefully a little more durable.
  10. Thanks for this. I’ve got some on the way. Seems like a real problem solver.
