First, I love the plugs that I have seen on this board! Great Job! I have started making my own, and once I have completed a few, I will post. I fish the tailwater of a dam on the Ohio river for stripers. This type of fishing is all about distance casting! You need to get 100 yards out. Usually I work Zara Spooks filled with BB's really fast to keep them on top. I need a lure in the 2.5-4oz range that will fly. A floating lure would be a big plus, as I could work them a little slower. Any design ideas? The few lures that I have shaped have sank like a rock (an oz of lead in the tail for weight).Types of wood? (I was thinking of trying oak with a few extra coats of epoxy). Any help would be greatly appreciated, and keep posting those plugs!
