  1. Sounds good Brian. See if I can get MT to join in, he seems like he has issues with RI!
  2. How ya doing Bri? Maybe we can hook up this year for the MS tourney. Going to the Cape this Sat. guess I will have to drag all of my heavy bucktails out of the junk pile.
  3. I know folks that say they "hammered" them. Each person's view on that is totally different. Who caught say (example), 4 bass up to 28#'s w/ a few blues mixed in. That some would consider "hammered" them. Someone could have caught 20 fish to 15#'s and consider that to be the same. All I know is I didn't "hammer" anything last nigth in 2 hours of plugging!
  4. How goes it Dave? Read your name in the newspaper couple of weeks ago.
  5. Hey Rich how ya been? I remeber ya hooking me up! Dare I say freshwater I do all kinds of fishing and haven't done much surf fishing this year. Have to break the 43" mark, (my best out of what maybe 4 trips earlier in the yr) with in the next week or 2 shouldn't be a problem. Glad someone has the stripes dialed in, I have to get this bluefish stank off me. I'm backkkkk.
  6. It's been like a couple of years since I have logged on here. I see this forum has grown. Tell me someone is catching stripers, I have been up to my armpit's in Blues and am ready for some linesides again. JohnS
  7. Fellow ****, I caught a fish last week that had a loop tag on it. Removed the tag and foudn that it came from NJ (caught fish in CT). All it says on the tag is: Littoral Soc. highlands N.J. 07732 Is that address sufficient enough to send to seems incomplete to me. Only other thing on the tag is a tag#. Any help appreciated. Side Note: Have caught quite of few stripers that came from the Hudson River. Those tags were self explanatory from what I remember. Thanks, JohnS
  8. I don't know if I am allowed to do this here or not. If not I am sure TimS will let me know. You can use this form if you want Toby. Didn't see ya up at the show. 9. Stopped by the booth thursday afternoon toby, didn't see anyone around.
  10. Dave sorry to hear about your mother.
  11. No icefishers what???!!!! Doing Ok here Rich, did you get up to the show at all??
  12. Whats up y'all? Been icefishing here. No stripers through the ice but I am working on it Just thought I would check in Rich how was your fresh water spot later in the season???
  13. I can't working 3rd shift. I know there should be some CSA members there and members from a ct fishing site there as well to represent the recs.
  14. I pitched a couple of shut outs my last times out. I don't think it's over yet but it doesn't help that their not close to shore lately. My last shut out this past Sunday night/Monday morning was hampered by boat issues on a reef to the east.
  15. Nothing going on in Milford this morning from 4-7am. Carry on.
  16. I hear ya chris. Guess I will have to start targeting walleyes in the dark icefishing when stripers bite the bullet in a month or so.
  17. I guess I had an OK year. Seems west is not best. East has fish on leash. I think there will be a ton of fish hitting our beaches within the next week or 2. They all can't zip by the Block to Montauk. Saw a bass blitz of "epic proportions" during the MDA tournament 2 weeks ago. I don't know if big fish will be here in 2 weeks but by all means there should be fish around soon. Just keep in mind if your still catching blues in your fishing spots then you know bass fishing in theory should hold up to at least a month after. I think there are lots of Stripers the migrate by in Dec. were just not fishing for them by then.
  18. Hey Rich PM your address if you like and I could send you an extra newsletter to your house . I make extra copies when I produce the newsletter. I am working 3rd shift now, I forgot how to fish in the day light. I feel somewhat lost. It's a little different being sleep deprived without a rod in my hand!
  19. It wouldn't be the first time someone tried to pawn there junk off on me When I finally get a bite using one I think I will check out sports authority and see if I can find a few more. I agree....I don't think a fish can open one of those up!
  20. Hey Rich, you know that snap you gave me last time we went fishing? It's the one that looks like a paper clip....where do you get those from? I think those might be a better snap then the #54 duolocks I have been using. Although since I tied it on I haven't even got a bite with it! Skunk snap. JohnS
  21. Congrats Joe....the surf rats didn't fair as well from what I understand. Congrats Doug V. nice catch. Hope to seeya at the meeting Wed. so I can hear the story first hand.
  22. Just got back yesterday from the Cape. Caught most of our 15 or so blues and 2 schoolies in Wellfleet Yaking out towards Jeremy Point. All blues were tiny about 3 lbs. Schoolies were smaller then that. Had a nice fish on a popper out at the Race one morning. It seems my fireline decided to part. I presume it was a bass seeing as the guy to my left hooked 3 in short order on bait. Was a great week even if the fishing was slow, back beaches were weedy on Friday morning. Saw a school of fish blow up at Herring Cove that was out of reach. JohnS
