  1. Without joking or being "smart", it really depends on the Species of fish that you're after. Basically, anything from 8# - 80# test is used, with 12# - 25# probably being the most common line wt. range ( Monofilament ).
  2. BAIT . . . 100% BAIT . . . If it doesn't BLEED, there is no NEED . . . LOL !
  3. Gonna buy a case of them ?
  4. Probably KITTY HAWK Pier . . . BUT, I suggest NAGS HEAD Pier . . . Do a GOOGLE search for "twsbaitandtackle" for RELIABLE Pier Reports ( NEVER trust the ones from the PIERS themselves - They only want "bodies on the boards" $$$ )
  5. Hmm . . . I would hope this group is trying to accomplish catching fish, efficiently and effectively, because that is my only goal in fishing. In my experience, and those of others related here in this thread, that is most often accomplished using bait. I know there are many "purists" who throw nothing but artificials . . . I tend to lump them together with Fly Fishermen, whom I often refer to as "elitists" and other monickers. My PETA references and others, only serve to illustrate my position as a "meat fisherman" and my disdain for "conservationists", "tree-huggers", "environmentalists", and all government agencies that restrict my access to and enjoyment of the outdoors. The species I pursue are as follows, in no particular order: Red Drum, Cobia, Striped Bass, Whiting / Croaker / Sea Mullet, Sharks, Spanish Mackerel, Bluefish, Black Drum, Spot, Jack Crevalle, etc . . . I am a Pier Fisherman, 99.9% of the time.
  6. Only when HUNTING ! ! !
  7. I fish to CATCH, not to enjoy the "AMBIANCE" of the "fishing experience" . . . BAIT catches FISH, period . . . I use "J" Hooks, rather than "Politically Correct" Circle Hooks . . . I am Anti-PETA, Anti-EPA, Pro-Hunting, and Pro-Catching . . . The "ends justify the means" for me, when it comes to Fishing and Hunting ! 100% Bait TODAY, 100% Bait TOMORROW, and 100% Bait, FOREVER ! ! !
  8. Have a great trip . . . Tight Lines ! ! !
  9. Hmm . . . "maxing out on STRIPPERS" . . . Wish I was there that day, even if the STRIPERS weren't biting . . . LOL ! ! !
  10. If it's WORKING, I use BAIT . . . If it's NOT WORKING, I use a DIFFERENT BAIT ! ! !
  11. Unless you're using a "FUGLY" STIK . . . LOL !
  12. How can you determine the Line Wt. Range & Lure Wt. Range for an "unknown" fishing rod or rod blank that is "completely unmarked", with no clue as to make or model ? Thanks, in advance !
  13. Al, Thanks for the info . . . I fish Mono only, as Braid and I "don't play well together". I fish everything from 6lb-test to 30 lb-test line on my rods. So, for me, I'd like to be able to get a good "feel" for what lb-test I could fish effectively on any given blank or "made up" rod, while in the store. I'm talking about unlabelled, "mix & match" blanks or rods built from them, where there is no clue as to manufacturer or any other labeling on them, in lengths from 6ft - 11ft, for the most part. Also, I fish both Spinner & Conventional reels ( not on the same rod, obviously ). Thanks !
  14. Denny, I have similar issues to you and here is the casting method I use . . . The "Hi-Inertia" by Phil Hyde of the UK. Tight Lines, Buddy !
  15. OK . . . No problem ! I was going through my "Stash", as my wife likes to call my collection of fishing rods, and saw that I have a "pristine" KUNNAN Tournament Angler 96% Graphite TA2170MH, 7',0" 213cm MEDIUM HEAVY spinning rod. I used to have another one that was a Heavy 7',6" Tournament Angler, but I sold it STUPIDLY, about 14 years ago . . .
  16. Hmm . . . Do tell ! Yes, I know it's a thread over a year old . . . What model Kunnan's do you have and prices ?
  17. TOUCHE' . . . LOL ! ! !
