  1. fm/nj and 3 jakes, thank you very much for the info. I am bringing a boat home from Norfolk to New Jersey. I Was trying to take the scenic route and avoid some of the open ocean. Since I dont know the boat at all and its going to be still cold when I do this trip. Thanks again guys!
  2. Old thread I know but... Does anyone know if I would be able to navigate this canal with 13.6ft x 30ft Catamaran it has a 2ft draft and a tilting outboard. I am coming up from Norfolk on my way to NY and would love to see this canal. Thanks all -Itchy
  3. if sand gets in the braid it becomes a very thin saw, braid alone can not cut titan guides. In the past braids were made with kevlar that can cut those guides on its own but braids are no longer made with that material. So it depends on where you fish if the water is very muddy or you drag your line of the bottom alot it could and most likly will happen over time, can bepretty fast if you cast and retrieve a lure often.
  4. its going to be bumpy this is normal. You can put another wrap or two on it to hide whats under it a few coats of finish will smooth it all out. OR put a coat of finish on to smooth it when it drys put on another wrap to hide then finish again. Either way works.
  5. Hello all, I could use some help finding a marina that might accommodate me and my little boat, its a 16ft dory on a trailer. I was hoping to keep it stored in a marina, on land and launch when I wanted to fish. (self launch via marinas ramp). Im by Rahway N.J. and would like to fish in raritan bay. I might even consider a Staten Island marina. Thanks everyone!
  6. I might be a little late on this but if you want a really really light weight blank to build from try this..It would make an awesome fluke rod. This is a batson blank. I built a bass flipin stick from it with a steez baitcaster reel it toped out at like 9 1/2 OZs for the whole combo. RX8+C865 Satin Black 7'2" 1pc 12-25 LB 3/8 - 1 1/4 OZ Butt.580 Tip 6.5 Fast Heavy 2.52 oz. Also at my buddies shop they are buying\\using Loomis 844 0r 845 class rods for fluking. You know those asian guys that win the pools week after week
