  2. Any rod can handle any fish in the right hands, but I would not LIFT anything with the mojo.
  3. Send me one of those fancy foiled jobs. I want to send them into the big blue and let the fish find out if they like the candy under the wrapper. [img= http://www.stripersonline.com/image/id/2386626/width/465/height/700' alt='700'>
  4. I am in
  5. I have both of those rods and don’t pick up the Premier much since I started using the Mojo. Mojo is good for a wide range of lures. The Primer is good for big stuff on big fish, but I am starting to use conventional tackle for that. I would not lift a fish with the mojo. You can lift 30” fish all day with the premier. ~Jason
  6. I was told that there was mullet all over Montauk this year, but can no longer be found.
  7. Re: Christmas Family Tackle box Thread http://www.stripersonline.com/t/819022/christmas-family-tackle-box-thread I know you all are hording some plugs for the fall and most of our tools are collecting cobwebs until sometime in January, but I think we could fill a bag rather quickly. Above is a link to the official thread and below is the address any gifts can be sent to. I put a post in the original thread asking about what size rod they are receiving so that Ed does not send a 10oz Godzilla bunker if they are getting light action rods….lol Jeanine Amato 32 Hart St W. 8. We say Ripping Lips….The fish say Destroying Plugs….. This sea ranger from the 12man swap now resides on the wall (bass only)
  9. Tammy, What rod combo is getting sent out? I will put a post up in the Lure Building Forum and although we can surly fill some bags, if we have the rod size we could fill them with plugs that they will be able to toss. ~Jason
  10. The tread only separated a bit at the toe in the same way Davids boot is separating from its tread on the edge. I personally removed the rest of the tread in efforts to test putting the studs directly into the hard plastic. I am hoping that with the studs directly inserted into the plastic they will hold much more securely for a greater period of time. The rest of these boots are bullet proof, and with the exception of a few surface scratches look as good as new. I know I will not be able to abuse these boots enough by winter to determine if screwing into hard plastic makes much of a difference, but I think it will. ~Jason
  11. Unfortunately I think my time in Montauk has come to an end for 2011, but I may be able to put on a sharpie suite for Halloween. Plugfiend That little bottle darter swims the nutz FJR That swimmer is going to get a workout along some jetties Also in the bag for the next trip is a winch all others may have to wait until November.
  12. This is wonderful and although I am not a club member I would volunteer to be the phone guy. I would enter, but my camera bit the dust last weekend and that is a weekend that I will be taking care of my grandmother and three dogs. Hopefully next year.
  13. Yea send it my way and I will try it out in inlets. Actually I am playing around with maple and a chin weight to get down in deep water.
  14. After two years the rest of the boot look as good as new.
  15. The tread was starting to separate at the toe and I have been folding over way to many studs in recent trips. Once they fall out it is hard to securely relocate the studs. After this past weekend I went ahead and removed the tread from the front half of the boots and reinserted studs. The studs feel much more secure than when inserted in the vibram tread and I was not able to feel them walking around in the driveway. I will provide an update sometime in the spring or over the winter on how they hold up. Ideally the hard plastic would be thicker and the vibram tread would be molded around areas where you would insert/place studs directly into the hard plastic sole.
  16. I finally started putting fish on a Fixter Needle. This was one of many and the last pic my camera would take.
  17. Good to know… Side note the fishing was off the hook this past weekend. I had steady fish from the time I hit the water Thursday night until I stopped fishing Sunday morning. Night time gave up much larger fish than the all day blitz action.
  18. Peanuts…yummmm Tommy (they guy that helped with directions) loves the swimmer and says thank you.
  19. I though all of your plugs were only good for one fish before they catch a spot on the wall
  20. We had a small gathering and as usually I was bordering zombie mode. I went up Thursday night and returned home this morning. Lots of fish, lots of food, lots of beverages and plenty of laughs all weekend. My only regret this time around was not fishing with anyone. Phone service is so sporadic out there that I usually just leave it off and separate myself from the reel world. Jason
  21. Just spent two hours wiring these suckers. Slope heads are new for me, but I had two that did well early spring in NJ. The rest are not pretty but they catch. The smaller two were my go to top water plugs last year when all the white bait came in, especially the tiny ones. Think knock off pocket rocket, just add a 6/0 dressed single. This is about half of what I set out to finish. The rest are painted or just primed…I just ran out of motivation. Going to take a shower, eat and head out in hopes for a low outgoing bite on the north side early am. Any idea of time and location for the Bash? Jason
  22. I am digging the little poppers
  23. File a for a restraining order as well.
