A 30" fish is a good fish. Sometimes you're the louisville slugger, Sometimes you're the ball.

Yellow kayak?

This is 36" 20lb fish. Leader is 17lb fluoro, main line is 20lb braid. Sandeel imitation jig from eBay.

Haddock bite is good at SW corner. Mostly 17"-20" fish. Threw back 20 or so Cod, quite a few were above "old legal" size (24+"). Big schools of Mackerel on the surface chasing small shrimp or maybe sandeels. No whales. Went to Race Point and found Striped Bass of all sizes, some on top, not many boats on them, surprisingly. Caught a dozen fish between 3 people in about an hour that we were there. Sandeel imitation jigs seem to work better than top water or live/dead Mackerel, at least that how it was for us. Overall, good day on the water, both weather and fish wise. I'll try to post a pic. later today.

I'll be there this Sunday (tomorrow)....

With eggs but not developed enough to spawn. Not sure why would that happen.

Marked a bunch of fish on a fish finder this AM. Also caught a nice 29"-er

I guess, I underestimated the number of people who chase yesterday's reports. On a weekday, no less. Sorry if my post messed up your plans. On the other hand, I wish somebody could tell me that the fishing is good before I get up at 3 AM and drive for 1.5 hours (one way). So, here you go, the fishing is good and will be for another few weeks!

I think any small minnow-style jig works to some extent. I've caught togs on Spro, Squinnow, Epoxy (Maria-style), XPS from Bass Pro, etc.

Togs are all over BBay. No bait is needed to catch a 3 fish limit. Just jig them up.

Usually happens when you dry-set the knot, friction creates a sudden heat spike and that weakens the line considerably. Also could be a nicked clip/swivel. Otherwise, a 25 lb fluoro should be pretty strong, no matter the brand. Palomar knot is around 60% of ABS.

Congrats!
