  1. SNL Corporation in Florida has the 1 lb loose bundled nylon in either crimped or uncrimped. just google them up, its good quality
  2. try WTP inc molded 3-d eyes http://www.wtp-inc.com/3d_eyes.html
  3. most of the time, I've noticed that when a fish inhales a lure with single hooks, a downward pointing hook goes right into their gills. (most of my saltwater stuff is 4", so I'm just speaking to that sized lure)
  4. point up works great, I build mine that way to avoid oysters and the point aways stays up.
  5. take a handfull of shrimp, place them in a zip lock bag. Do not zip the bag completely (keeps them moist while letting the aroma out) place bag under the seat of sister's car
  6. where are you getting $4 lures? the decent ones sell for around $7-10 down here. I can make 4-5 wooden ones to the exact size& weight I want for that price.
  7. I'd suggest starting with a kit. This would allow you to paint, assemble, and top coat a lure without trying to learn how to turn/carve or match up correct lips hooks etc. If you enjoy that, start adding skills/ equipment as you go. This site is great resource, (the paint jobs here are )
  8. I misinterpreted this as a challenge from the other thread. my bad, I just feel this is an art form and don't get into the whole ego thing I've seen on some sites. carry on
  9. Doesn't this really defeat the reason that we are here and why we do this? I don't build to say "my lures is better than so&so's", & I don't feel the need to brag about what I do. I do like to learn what others are doing and improve my personalized style I remember when another site wanted to "rate" lure makers JMHO
  10. Have you swam the one on the top left? lookin' good
  11. anything not sold by wed will go to ebay. reasonable offers considered
