  1. Why are you covering the BB in head cement? Building a larger head? Amazing flies.
  2. Winter Hope... Best looking Steel Fly out there. ( of the moderns...)
  3. Yup, either two coats of CCG like JK mentioned, on smoother material like the polar fiber materials you see above. One should be fine.
  4. Very nice flies... Cool heads too I like how the eyes pop out.
  5. Ridiculous!!! Great Step By Step.
  6. Yup, learning curve in all new products. Bet the next one will be fantastic. I remember when I first started to use synthetics, flies looked pathetic, packed full, way too much. I have since improved.... A little bit, Im no Jim Miller or Mr Taylor
  7. It was SF Blends, now Devil N Blends. Very cool stuff!!
  8. Clear Cure Goo- 100% USA made. This is beginning to sound like a pep rally...
  9. Lets try and be as informative as we can... and keep things in perspective. These fly tying lights are so low powered its not even funny. Its not like a dentist light that has its own cooling unit, its not like its plugged in to the wall for electricity, although I do use the plug in when I use my Tuffleye. We are talking about a few AAA batteries. Turned on for 3-5 seconds. Not minutes not hours... But if you are concerned about lights... Here we go again.. http://www.mdsupport.org/library/hazard.html#blue According to some of these studies,16 17 18 19 blue light waves may be especially toxic to those who are prone to macular problems due to genetics, nutrition, environment, health habits, and aging. This one is about watching too much tv and how its bad for your eyes, especially the BLUE light. http://www.asiaone.com/Health/Wellne...21-223162.html "It's less energetic than UV radiation but it also has the ability to penetrate into tissue and cause cellular damage." http://www.wistv.com/Global/story.asp?S=3712871 But ophthalmology researcher Janet Sparrow and her team at New York's Columbia University are finding links between disease and some light that we can see, "And the most high-energy light in the visible range is blue light, and that's why we're interested in the possibility that blue light may be damaging to the retina." Their studies show blue light damages retina cells in the lab, the same cells involved in macular degeneration,"For myself I wear yellow-tinted sunglasses and I would recommend to others that they, um, also do this." _______ Just try and keep things in perspective.. Small lights, small power, small amounts of time. If you are worried about UV light. Where Poly Carb glasses, dont even have to wear sunglasses. Any lens clear or other wise that is poly carbonate will block UV light, not sure if it will block into the Blue light spectrum. But Im sure someone can google that.
  10. Damn Damn Damn... Cancer does suck very much.... Thoughts and prayers for you and your family. Im glad you have a good attitude about it, the homeland security thing cracked me up. Keep your head up! Good luck.
  11. http://www.capth3.com/public/The_Hollow_Connection.pdf The Hollow Connection is tops... Captain Harry Huelsbeck has put together a very very informative pdf on this subject full of info on how to hollow splice and capacities for the hollow braid on a ton or reels. Ive used this on my heavy reels, and most of the time you cant even tell with the backing gets pulled through the guides. Lots of pictures for his step by step.
