  1. Unfortunately, not, but thanks for the offer.
  2. Sold to CDubbs. PM on the way. Thanks TimS and SOL staff!
  3. I'll do that. If that'll work, just say "I'll take it". I'm headed to work and won't be able to log in until this evening.
  4. St. Croix Premier Surf 12 foot heaver. PSRC 120XH2 12 ft, line- 20lb to 60lb Lure - 4oz to 16oz - 2pieces, 60 / 40 split Still in the exact condition as i bought it. Bought it right here....lightly used. There's a small area (about 1/2" or so) where some finish has flaked off, but that has no impact on performance. Cork tape is still intact and in great shape. Only got to used it once or twice in one of our local rivers (caught one sturgeon, ~70 lb or so). Great rod, but I have a few sturgeon rods, now. Anyone who's ever fished one of these rods will tell you, it's one of the most powerful surf sticks ever made. $240 shipped in PVC tube with signature confirmation. Check or USPS Money Order preferred. May take Paypal...will have to check on fees, first.
  5. Hi... Here's a link to an ad I posted a while back. PSRC 120XH2 12 ft, line- 20lb to 60lb Lure - 4oz to 16oz - 2 pc, 60 / 40 split http://www.stripersonline.com/surftalk/topic/621008-for-sale-st-croix-premier-surf-12-ft-conventional-heaver/?hl=%2Bst.+%2Bcroix+%2Bpremier+%2Bheaver
  6. Anyone else seen this. I meant to post last Fall, but managed to get sidetracked. They're narrow-spooled Accurate twin-drag reels designed to be mounted underneath the rod. They were developed in collaboration with a New Zealander named Kane Tapper.
  7. Zac Brown Band

  9. Marvin Gaye
  10. George Jones
  11. Johnny Gill
  12. Toni Braxton
  13. Travis Tritt
  14. The Marshall Tucker Band
  15. 4 Non Blondes (geez, what a freak show) I think I liked the bass player better when he was with Metallica. Oh, wait.... Nevermind.
  16. Justin Moore
  17. Natalie Merchant
  18. Merle Haggard
  19. Plenty of candidates….. Kinda depends on which qualities you find most appealing. I think Whitney Houston had richer tone and greater range than Stevie Nicks, but I’m not a fan of Houston’s body of work (Star-Spangled Banner notwithstanding). I’ll take Fleetwood Mac. Luther Vandross, Elton John, and Whitney Houston are in the mix. So are Merle Haggard, Travis Tritt, and George Jones. Natalie Merchant, Justin Moore, Marvin Gaye, George Strait, Mariah Carey, Johnny Gill, Toni Braxton-----all players. A few good ones, in no particular order: Merle Haggard Gregg Allman That lead singer with 4 Non Blondes Natalie Merchant Chris Robinson – The Black Crowes Luther Vandross Toby Keith Randy Owen – Alabama Toni Braxton Justin Moore Toy Caldwell – The Marshall Tucker Band Whitney Houston George Jones Lenny Kravitz Mariah Carey Diana Ross Stevie Nicks – Fleetwood Mac and solo Adam Duritz – Counting Crows Garth Brooks Johnny Gill Tim McGraw Travis Tritt Kenny “Babyface” Edmonds The members of Boys 2 Men Elton John Patti Labelle Norah Jones Burton Cummings – The Guess Who Zac Brown Alan Jackson Waylon Jennings George Strait Keith Washington Scott Weiland Steve Windwood Kenny Chesney
  20. Well, I'll be damned..... Indeed it is....available for purchase on a few websites. It's not even listed on Mirrolure's site yet.
  21. So true. There were times in my youth when I wanted so badly to do just that, but our concern for cottonmouths outweighed our curiosity. Standing on exposed rocks and working shallow riffles provided plenty of entertainment and education, but I always wondered what was "over there" in that slightly deeper stretch. Love it! Kids will eat that up. It'll be hard to get 'em to stop. Something they'll teach their kids some day.
  22. I can't say for sure, either. Both seem familiar. I want to say there was some short statement about how big bass are known to feed on fluke, followed by the claim that the Petri Fish had already accounted for some big fish. That style of marketing is so common that, for all I know, I could be thinking of some other lure. Just substitute sand eels for fluke-----now you're selling Slug-Gos.
  23. I think The Surfcaster carried those. Petri Fish....dark brown soft plastic body on a jig with a dark brown painted head shaped like that of a flounder.
  24. Oops....I should've said "eared" brake pad, not "keyed". Yep....you bet. Interesting, for sure. Where there's a will there's a way.
  25. Not quite what I'd pictured. When I think of a caliper brake, I picture what you've described; like you'll find on cars, trucks, and some industrial web tensioning applications. It's no longer referred to as a "caliper" on Avet's recently updated website, but several of the online tackle shops still use an excerpt from the original product launch a few years ago. "The Avet Raptor Series are basically our original 2-speed M.C. Avet Reels re-engineered with our patented Dual Direct Drive full surface caliper brake system that puts out twice the drag pressure of the original single drag Avet Reels. " I like what Avet's done here, using a keyed brake pad between a pair of the largest metal brake discs possible, allowing for maximum utilization of exposed drag surface material.
