  1. Thanks for the heads up on the sale. I purchased some line from STP yesterday and got a 35% off promotion to boot! Cost $25.00 by the time discounts were tallied! That is a great deal for a good line.
  2. Your patience is phenomenal! It is WAY too easy to try to sweep and set the hook when they first break water. You just kept working the bait until you felt weight, which is perfect - but SO hard!
  3. If nobody has one for you, you can try Nutter Rod and Reel in GA. I called Shimano for a handle for my 2500 FH yesterday. They directed me to Nutter, they don't have original Shimano handles but a replacement version. I can't speak to the quality, but it only cost me 20.00 shipped.
  4. John, From the video footage here, it looks like you are casting up current (to the right) which is where your retrieve begins. However camera makes it look as though your bucktail is down current (on your left) before your retrieve is complete. It looks like you are reeling in against the current near the end of each cast and in fact it seems that this is when the the majority of your bites come. I know the lens has some distortion effect, so I am hoping you can comment on this a bit; is this really what is happening here? Thanks for your time and these great video tutorials!
  5. Agreed. I don't get tangled up on deck buttons, hatches, handles and other gadgets very often. I will say though that the fly hook digging into the bungees does become a problem once in a while. If i'm not paying attention and my fly gets to close to a bungee it will sink right in and cause a hassle, but that usually only poses and issue with fresh water light wire hooks. Larger salt hooks haven't been an issue for me.
  6. Any interest in breaking them up? I need a 9 wt reel. Greg
  7. If you still have this rod, I will take it for $135.00 shipped to NH. Let me know. Thanks, Greg
  8. Thanks, Tailslap. I know I got an amazing deal on this. Thank you! Greg
  9. If you are willing to go 95 shipped, I'll take it. Let me know if that works for you. Thank you, Greg
  10. If you'll take $160 shipped you can consider it sold right now. What do you think? Greg
  11. Ahhhh - forgot about the S series. Thanks.
  12. Looking for a good baitfeeder reel in a 3000 to 5000 size reel. Something along the lines of a Shimano Baitrunner or an Okuma Epixor, etc. Let me know what (if anything) you have. Thanks!
  13. Google Maps is a great tool to discover new rivers/ponds to fish in any given area. I travel a lot and use Google maps to find roads that wind close the ponds I want to fish, likely pull off spots and likely launch spots for my yak. Good luck!
