  1. Agreed. Been a GLX fan forever. Have a bunch of freshwater spinning rod GLX's also and they're great. The fly rods are cannons and light The T&T and the GLX 8wt 4 piece no longer for sale.
  2. Anyone want to make a reasonable offer on any of these before they go elsewhere?
  3. No action going to remove this from sale
  4. Selling my Abel ported 3N. Reel is in excellent shape with a couple of tiny nicks on the underside and a little worn off finish on the foot. Comes in original case with paperwork and blank warranty card. Can be change from right to left retrieve by flipping the pawl. $375 pick up on Long Island (Northport) or $15 to ship priority mail
  5. Since I haven't cast a fly rod in 10 years, I think its time to get rid of some rods. All rods bought new by me. Pick up or meet on Long Island (Northport Area or Melville). I can ship the 4 pieces, not the 2 piece. Shipping actual cost anyway you want it G Loomis GLX (classic) FR1148-4 9'6", 8wt, 4 piece. Rod is is excellent condition, fished a few times. Comes in original sock and tube. $350 G. Loomis GLX (classic) FR1089. 9' 9wt, 2 piece. Most used of the three, but in great condition. Comes with original sock and tube. $275 Thomas & Thomas HS9010S-4. 9', 10wt, 4 Piece. Used less than 10 times. Has tiny knick in the finish on butt section, 6" up from the grip-purely cosmetic and unnoticeable unless you're really inspecting it. Tube has some dings from rolling around my basement for years. Did best to take a photo of it $375
  6. Brian still the great philosopher - I admit having to look up the definition of sclerotic! Good info and great people as usual on SOL. The buyer kept the reel and I refunded some cash - all is good. On the plastic repair thoughts - while it may not be the ideal fix method for a reel, every DIY type should have a hot staple plastic welder. Best $25 I ever spent. I've tried the other plastic welding methods like the irons, but this is so easy and durable. Looks like this
  7. MG / ooeric, thanks for the input. I don't think its a practical issue, but not what you want to get when you buy something. Whether its a functional issue or not, it is nevertheless broken. I do see some 300 series side plates for sale- can someone confirm what other 300 sideplates fit a no letter 344-5?
  8. Hey Brian! Just dipped in to clean out a couple of things. One day, I'll get back to fishing!
  9. Need a Newell expert guidance. I just posted and sold a Newell 344-5 to doso222 on the BST. As you can see in the BST post, I sold him a bum reel with cracks on the sideplate. Not intentional of course. So, I'm looking to make it right. I'm fine with taking it back but wanted to see if anyone here has a replacement sideplate, or any thoughts or suggestions on the issue and what's best to make doso happy?
  10. Doso on the 344, Pablo on the 229
  11. Cdubbs on the 7000. mtl50, not looking for any more gear, but thanks.
