  1. On Sunday, 11/7 I fished out of Dames Quarter at the north end of the Sound. We jigged up a mess of fish on plastics and metal. I took special note of the brilliant color, heartiness, and healthy appearance of the fish and how nice it was not to see the skinny, sickly fish that comprise the resident stock in the Summer. There weren't enough to see sea lice on the fish, but at the end of the day there were maybe a half dozen on the deck.
  2. Hmmmm, if you're certain your username and password is correct, that prolly means our cookie trick didn't work. Just to be sure, maybe click the forgot-login-info link on the bottom half of the login page. Finishing the process above... In the website field, type in "www.aimoo.com". The managed websites field at the bottom should populate itself with the domain and all cookies from that domain should be allowed, regardless of all the other settings. IF it's worth the trouble, register under a new name and email and if that works, that'll tell us if it's your browser settings or if it's the site.
  3. Cap' If you have Internet Explorer*, go to TOOLS...INTERNET OPTIONS...PRIVACY tab...and at the bottom is WEB SITES. Hit the EDIT button and it should open a window that will let you explicitly allow cookies from the web sites you specify and override all the other cookie handling options. *This is what I found with IE ver. 6. It might be slightly different for other versions.
  4. I can drink a half gallon in a day and the diet is like 32 calories for the whole thing. Regular iced tea is like 100 cal. per 8 oz. Just doing what I can to keep the girth in check, Cap'.
  5. Lumpia is good, but they kinda' get soggy when they cool. Empanadas get my vote as a slightly more suitable Filipino fishing snack. I guess I'm, uhhh, "in a different boat" because if I want Filipino food, I drive 20 mins. to my parents house. A little OT of the O T, but there's a pretty consistent pattern to my fishing lunches: italian hoagie, Wawa diet iced tea and Pizza flavored Combos.
  6. Maybe we should start LM bass fishing flooded timber, docks, etc. When I used to be out of Bay Boat Works on the North East, I'd show up to the boat to fish the flats and would find a couple bass boats flippin' and jiggin' courteously and with some interesting success.
  7. Edit Andrew, check your email. I sent you a new reply Tues. night. [This message has been edited by Weege (edited 03-25-2003).]
  8. Try these links removed These (3) I've never chartered, but know personally. Good guys, all. [This message has been edited by TimS (edited 10-09-2002).]
  9. Two Saturdays ago, LOTS of breaking fish and birds in the shallows E-S-E of the BP light. Terns, gulls and even pelicans were going nuts and there pods of breakers everywhere. Caught lots of blues and really small rockfish. They were tearing up bay anchovies/silversides/glass minnows/etc. From the reports that have followed, they've stuck around between there and Parsons Island I think it's called.
  10. Dal, Were you at the TriState flea? If so, did I look right at you and not make the connection? I feel bad if I did. You resemble another board member (maybe Charlie VA) and maybe it was him. But just in case, my apologies for not saying hi. You're in for a great treat with those rods. They are definitely Force rods for the "next level", i.e. BIG fish or decent fish in nasty current. You could still use standard force fare pretty much anywhere, but you'll get beat up in a hurry if you're catching fish in numbers under these extreme circumstances. Now, if I could only finagle a way to meet up with Tony to get mine... Working on it, TH.
  11. Beautiful fish, Dave! Enjoyed the read and good for you.
  12. Glad you made it home okay, T. I'm sure you would have "MacGuyver-ed" something, but I'm sure remembering a Superfish story saved a lot of time and brainstorming. Count me among the many that have learned a great deal from Pete. When I open the bail and drop that assassin down and watch the fireline do its dance as it streams to the bottom for the first time that trip, well...that's about as great a tribute to Pete as one can give, isn't it? I don't do it online so much for reasons I'm sure you can identify with, but trust me, I am seeing to it that Pete's words and methods go on.
  13. Time. Time on the water. Time studying the water. Time reading and surfing and talking about all things fishing. Taking the time to turn the boat around to pick up that plastic bag or soda can you see floating. Time at the workbench or at the tying vise or even in the tackle shop perfecting the tools of your craft. Time at the helm to practice safe and efficient operation of your boat. Time cleaning and maintaining your boat because it's safer for you and your crew, and easier on the environment. Some folks need more time than others. Some folks give more of their time than others. Some folks take less time to be good fishermen thanks to other good fishermen. See you guys out there. Weege
  14. Goes to show that the Force is the Force and stripers are stripers no matter where you go. I bet they laughed at you for your "little" rod. Can't wait for the details.
  15. SS, The reports I've heard are that they're around if you work for them. Top baits are topwater and bass assassins. There has been action around grass beds (Carpenter Point?) and the holes and troughs, in and running through the flats. Good luck, and I'd be interested in a report if it wasn't too much trouble.
