  1. kinda stiff at first, then i sat in my recliner watching westerns clicking this knife open and closing it off and on all one afternoon. flicks open easily now. i love this little knife
  2. i gave this on to my dad when he was my best man, he only carried it on special occasions (when he was dressing up). i carried it for 5 years. i think i will give it to my son.
  3. my son gave me this one as a gift for being his best man, didn't think i would like it but i have been toting it for 2 years now
  4. Reel, Hoping for the best and expecting the worst has unfortunately become the norm. It sucks that my kids and their kids will not enjoy what we have enjoyed in the past. Hopefully this is a good sign, it appears to be, and things will get better. I have been supporting the cause financially and trying to do my part (letters and meetings) for some time now, this is first time in a long time I felt that maybe I wasn't beating my head against the wall. Great Joke! Welcome.
  6. just my 2. i always buy from the local tackle shop where i fish the most. it may cost a little more, but it's nice to have him around. he may be able to fix the broken reel as well.
  7. Trust me it ain't all gravy, but it has it's moments. I live in NC, 20 plus hours in an airplane to Sydney is brutal. The first trip was cool, the next trip OK, now it's getting old, but it pays for my fishing addiction!!! Tight Lines.
  8. Great points. My rack holds only a 48 qt and 6 rods with a tackle box/cutting board. Some of the racks I've seen are quite elaborate and I imagine a single point hook up would not be sufficient.
  9. I don't know what is "best" but I put a single receiver on my rig because of convenience. I just slip my fishing rack in when I need it and off when I don't. You can buy the receiver hitch online and install it yourself pretty easily. They also work great for moving boats or trailers around in the yard when you have to mow around them. Just my $.02.
  10. I travel to Queensland, AUS about 4 times a year on business and have had the opportunity to get on the beach with some serious surf fishers. These guys swear by the Alvey and can produce beautiful cast, i just can't get the hang of it. I'll stick with my HDX Breakaway and Penn 525 Mag combo. BTW 6oz and a chunk of bait seems to be the sweet spot for me on that combo.
