  1. God bless and prayers that all goes well.
  2. Thanks for responding Rick. I think I have figured out the problem. I had an assembly that was broken and would not function properly. I replaced it after comparing the replacement with my old one. A tooth was damaged on the spindle and the pin in the Axel was in bad shape. Thanks ABJ
  3. Apexkeeper are you still on the site? I could use some information about a Mitchell 306. I am puzzled about the spindle and Axel separation. Please email me at abj5150@Yahoo. com
  4. Coca Cola: Makes you wonder what it does to your stomach.
  5. I agree with the person who provided the reaponse regarding the penetrating oil and use of a brush. The only thing I would add or change is to have you use a product called Corrosion X. It is awesome and you can lube your reels with it to prevent corrosion. I have had great success in freeing conventional Penn reel pinion gears from spool shafts when they have been really bad.
  6. The only thing I would tell you is that you need to take it completely apart and clean it thoroughly. They are easy to work on. Make sure you hold the bridge in place when you remove the screws. The biggest problem you will have is being careful not to lose the little Anti-Reverse Dog Spring. That little sucker will fly out sometimes if you aren't aware of it. It is worth $15.00 to have shop do it for you but once you have done it it makes it much easier to maintain your own reels. $15.00 will buy a decent bottle of wine or a couple of six packs of beer. abj
  7. I would hang on to it if I had it. A nice collector piece. They are pretty inexpensive on E-Bay. I would like to have a nice clean one in like new condition. .
