  1. You'll get lots of different POVs on this. My 2 cents - keep it simple. For stripers anywhere but flats I've done fine with 4 - 6 feet of straight 20 pound test. On flats early in the year I go 8 - 9 feet long, tapered down to 20 pound test. As year goes on and they get spookier on the flats I may go down to 12 - 15 pound test.
  2. Great blanks! I built a 6 weight FSA that I got from HL and it's a rocket launcher with an 8 weight intermediate striper line. Enjoy!
  3. Thank you, Ghost KironaFly - DM me and I'll get you paid - thanks!
  4. Brookies up on the gravel, stashed the fly rod, crawled to the edge of the stream and just enjoyed .... IMG_4121.MOV
  5. I've done this type of fishing for years, and it can be incredibly frustrating as everyone has said. I've had more refusals than I can count, and blown way too many casts due to "Buck Fever" .... or probably more accurately, "Cow Fever" .... My biggest lesson has been simple. Stay as shallow as you can - there are flats where I see people wading up to their asses as fish continually swim behind them in shallower water. My best sight fishing Stripers have all come with me wading in no deeper than 18". Biggest striper I've ever seen blasted bait in 12" of water next to me as I was walking back the beach to the car - never even got the fly in the air. And it took me years to catch one on a crab fly, but if you see a striper hanging in 24" of water like a trout facing into a guzzle of water draining a flat, bouncing a crab through the guzzle right to it's face can be fun :-)
  6. Last call & last price drop . $30 shipped for either one, $50 shipped for both.
  7. Price drop - just trying to clean out the closet here. $35 shipped for either one, $60 shipped for both.
  8. Cleaning out the closet a bit ... I have a brand new Hardy Mach WF 10 Floating line and a brand new Scientific Anglers Wavelength Grand Slam WF11 Floating line (368 grains per box), both boxed and never taken off their "spools" - never been out of the box, never touched a reel. $45 shipped for either one, $80 shipped for both.
  9. Hey sardean - let me know if you're interested, otherwise I'm going to throw these up for others in a for sale post. You have first dibs, obviously Thanks!
  10. Hi Sardean - I've got just shy of what you're looking for, but thought I'd offer in case by chance this worked for you. I have a Hardy Mach WF 10 Floating line and a Scientific Anglers Wavelength Grand Slam 11 Floating line (368 grains per box), both boxed and never taken off their "spools" - never been out of the box, never touched a reel. If you're interested let me know and I'm sure we can work something out. Cheers IMG_3876.heic
  11. Some green, grey, black, silver and white - one of my favorite color combos (water warm as hell, but still some bass around the Elizabeths) ...
