1. a LOT of blue cats in the potomac. fished at Bushwood ( mouth of the wicomoco and potomac) 4-1 and fill coolers with them glad they are an invsive spieces:hooked:
2. for 20# up i use PP under 20# its fireline crystal. digging in can be an issue if you use the reel like a winch to pull fish in use the power of the rod to work the fish in "pump it up" reel on the down stroke. for wind knots a simple thing like closing the bail manually helps a lot to reduce the line twist that happens when turning the handle to close the bail.
3. i dont always catch fish but when i do i prefer stripers;) i usually say gotcha... Bit@% unless little ones are around then its gotcha Madam
4. heading to either AI or Chincoteague on the 28th, hopefully they will be there by then;)
5. a few small specs around Neavitt last weekend right in the cove by the ramp
6. thanks, i wasnt sure. ive been adding uv flash to my flys and bucktails, need to try them and see if they will catch fish. heading to Key West next month and need to practice
7. very nice, ive new to tying and have made a few saltwater flies and bucktails for myself some day they might look as good as yours:drool: question how do you make the bars on the barred parrot? thanks
8. a big problem is turning the handle to close the bail it puts twist in the line, another problem is not enough line on the spool. since ive strted to clost the bail manualy the wind knots have been greatly reduced. some of these should be comming your way soon
9. ive started doing that. a lot better when its warmer.
10. yeah the revo weight is a little more than actual, with rods, cooler, crate batt. etc probably 20-25lbs more makes it a little harder for older guys to pick up the rear to remove the cart.
11. an American animal rights group PEW is trying to close 80% of Australian coastal water to fishing and they have their sights set on us too. i think its time for these big tackle companies to start funding an opposition to these guys or they will lose billions in revenue and we lose or fishing rights
12. if your not going to stand or sail i wouldnt bother with them, the revo is very stable. the tip point on the revo is way over and you really have to try to flip it
13. i also use the 7ah battery, it lasts for atleast 4 6 hour trips, a good practice is to put a 2amp inline fuse between the batt. and ff. my lorance x67c shuts down at 8 volts
