  1. Just a reminder to check the size/limit regulatons. Besides the fluctuating dates and quantities at 16 inch. At all times only 1 fish over 21 inches. I think the state are trying to protect big females.
  2. I have caught a few on small rebel minnow type lures. I always caught them in spawning season in shallow water. I always associated their attack on the lure as a defence mechanism protecting their spawning territory.
  3. I thought this show was excellent. I have heard people say it's not as good as a few years ago. I have worked this show years ago and been attending every year that I remember. I say it's just as good if not better than earlier years. I see a core group of vendors return every year, a few have dropped out but there is a new wave of younger vendors now displaying their goods, especially in the charter boat, rod building and custom plugs.
  4. On my calendar it is, but sometimes mother nature Says otherwise. Will be going as usual, pick up licenses for Wife and myself, see a few old friends. Not looking to score with any big purchaces.
  5. Good to see you posting again Oldgoat.
  6. My next door neighbour Manny was a Boston college basketball star in the mid 1960s. He played on the team coached by Celtics legend Bob Cousy. Manny's career was ended by injuries and didn't make the NBA. Later in life he helps the kids of Fall River by replacing the nets of all the basketball courts in the city every year. The city of Fall River honoured him by naming a court after him.
  7. Saw this plaque today in the ground at the Middleboro herring run.
  8. I've been using Texas Tackle pliers for longer than I can remember. Orange handle.
  9. I used 2 Tsunami trophy slow pitch spiral wrap last year, 6ft8inch and 7ft models. Both performed excellent. For around $120 great value for money.
  10. Thank you Jason and Carl. I lost track of the show when covid hit. What reminded me of it was seeing the melting snow over the weekend and thinking "Always went to MSBA show when snows melting". I went for years, downstairs in Kingston mall, Stonhill college off rt24, Foxboro stadium, sports complex in Plymouth, then another 2 sports halls in the Pembroke/Rockland area.
  11. Any info on this year's show? Cannot find anything out there.
  12. Again, it didn't take long for a thread on the Massachusetts forum to slide into the gutter with surreptitious, crafty, minority directed derogatory remarks.
  13. For people who swim or dunk their reel, I always thought holes in the rotor cup were for reducing water pressure behind the spool when the spool stroke was retracting, allowing water to come out easier.
  14. Thanks Chuck. Don't know why photo is upside down! Well I retired yesterday, going to recharge the batteries, will have a bit more time and looking forward to the upcoming season.
