  1. I have had positive experiences with every major braid manufacturer I have tried. They have some particularities that may suite certain applications or anglers better but imo they are all good. I have 10-12 year old regular power pro on some reels. Never had a mystery break. I think those happened from a bad batch many years ago now. Only thing I have done is reverse the spool once or twice. Used super slick no issues. 832, Jbraid x8...all good. Spiderwire fine too. I think modern braided lines are all generally quite good. Some handling differences and particularities but you can buy a spool of any brand and expect it to work to catch striped bass. I use a lot of Jbraid x8 because I got a good price on a bulk spool of 30lb a couple years ago. I think if I used 832 or a powerpro product I would be just as pleased.
  2. We do very well shore fishing right in the middle of NYC for bass and blackfish. Lots of slots, some overs and plenty of keeper tog. Some of those who are joking might be happy to do as well out in suburbia.
  3. Looking for a record 41. That's the small left handed model. Located in Brooklyn
  4. Some west coast fish can get dark or uneven meat pigmentation (ling cod, cabezon) In those cases it is blue or green. Do the dark spots in the tog show up after it is cooked?
  5. I'm not sure what the point of this comment is. The rod is sold. Thanks SOL.
  6. I think I have an option to get it there now. Sold to redfish12 for 60. I will pm you the delivery/pickup details.
  7. They are Fuji guides. If you google the model number info is readily available. http://merricktackle.com/home-images/seeker/EastCoast.pdf
  8. It's an ~18 year old rod and shows very light wear. It's not an "issue" in my estimation. You can see what I am talking about in the picture you requested. I'll pass thanks.
  9. The tip is in great shape to my eye-here are some pictures. If you'd do 60 I'd be happy to sell. It really is in good shape for a 15 year old rod. The only issue I see is some of the guide rings and feet showing the underlying metal. You can see an example of this in the pictures. No rust or greening I can see despite this.
  10. BA 85 7C. Old school high quality glass composite rod. Made in USA ~2004 and used rarely since then (original owner). 7' one piece conventional. Has some paint wear on guide frames (frames painted black but showing through to silver in some areas) but all rings and frames are solid and in good condition. No notable dings or rodholder rash to my eyes. If you like this style of rod this is a really great one. Great party boat rod and great rod to fight a fish on. 70 picked up in Brooklyn 11222. Possible meet up close by but I am limited to public transit and one piece rods make that difficult.
  11. That's gonna be a bit of a journey for me to get there and bring the thing back. I will hold off. Thanks though.
  12. Where are you in Brooklyn. I am in North Brooklyn and am interested if we can work out pickup.
  13. What makes it B stock? Does that refer to some kind of defect?
