  1. Im guilty of the same, but if you buy high and sell low you can make up for it in volume.
  2. Lures in that condition are exactly the ones to keep. They look like new to me. If it helps, Creek Chub started using that type of box around 1951 so they could be 50+ years old. I would lean toward the early side being they have glass eyes.
  3. Do you mean Fenwick Lunker stik
  4. The tin is worth around 10-15 maybe more if a good color lure is inside Nice find
  5. Chris from what I can gather, the Cycloid reels were patented around 1945 and were several different styles including a micromatic. They were good reels for thier time they do have some collector interest. They were made in Chicago Ill. I think that someone in Rockford Ill. bought out all the parts and may still be making them there, or was. Do a google search for cycloid micromatic for more info.
  6. And I thought I was the only one to sell empty coke bottles for the penny deposit. And if you could find a flat it brought a nickel. Between that and carrying golf clubs at the course, I finally graduated from cane poles, to a mitchell 300. One week later I caught my first Bass. I have come full circle because a week ago I bought another mitchell 300 new in the same box as the first one. I still use these for pier fishing whiting (300) and crappie fishing with a (308). I have many new reels now but I still get a great satisfaction and fond memories of these older mitchellsCatch em up.
  7. I found one for sale, jointed husky pikie amber flash and he is asking 400.00 Doesnt mean its worth that or he will get that price but its for sale for that. But then again it is uncommon, only made from 1959 to 1962.
  8. I always thought 10 was amber flash and 41 was amber. But regardless a wonderful group of lures in rare colors. Roy is that 2 amber flash pikies and one with red on top? Unheard of. Ive been to a lot of tackle shows and only seen one of those before. It has the potential to bring big bucks. Congrats.
  9. Try using a hair dryer on low heat and then wipe them off. its magic
  10. I have way too many plugs also but respectfully offer $100.00 shipped.
  11. I just picked up the bream and shad last week, but since the temp here is 20-40 degrees I havent had the chance to wet them. I am trying to find a replacement for the bagley small fry bream since they are getting harder to find and more expensive. Will let you know as soon as I can get out.
  12. Thats a tricky question for this forum. I will answer it the best way I can without circumventing the rules. First and foremost I would post it in the proper forum for this site (BST), since here is where it was first posted. Give some of your friends and members here the opportunity to purchase them if you are selling. I realize this site is is mostly saltwater but in collecting you occasionly have to purchase unneeded things to get the ones you want. And I would bet that a lot of members cross-collect all lures and tackle related items. With that said there are several lure collecting clubs including the new salt water lure collectors club that have shows at least twice a year. I know some of those members and would bet a lot of them collect those plugs also. I dont know a lot about saltwater plugs that is my reason for being a member here. I have learned a lot from this site and the way I try to repay that is to contribute some knowledge to others in an area I know about. Im no expert by any means and there are others here that have lots more knowledge than I do but I try to help where I can. There are also some other good websites that have forums for selling lures but out of respect I wont mention them here. Then theres always that auction site
  13. The seeds were collected heavily a few years back then were reissued which turned a lot of collectors off. But they still sell and trade pretty good. Yours has transitional hardware. Surface on belly and cup on tail which dates it somewhere around 1960. Not an early one, in excellent condition yours should bring around 50.00.
