  1. managed to come home with this little guy and 5 barreds. wasn't respecting anything. surprise.
  2. first of all. thank you very much for the thought, and yes i do get skunked once in a while( 2 to 1 ratio). i do recommend to bleed the fish right a way when caught, that way the fish will stay fish and not spoil. and lastly if you like to firm up the meat a little, i usually marinated a little bit of salt and pepper over night, and the meat stays firm and not mushy.
  3. took advantage of the situation,(gorgeous weather) today. swell was moderate. notice the beach had changed after the storm from last week. There are no trough near close or near by. took a chance to cast out as far as i could and waited. in a few minutes later, i had hook up the first fish of the day and right after that i continue to cast toward that direction and resulted with good quality fish. it lasted for about 45 minutes or so. Total fish of the day was 8. 7 barred and 1 redtail. donated 3 to my buddy and kept 5 for dinner
  4. 4 and 4 (barred and redtail). timing is everything i guess or were i just lucky. anyway, ya got there like about an hour before the top of the tide. and the water were coming up fast, a lots of movement. a nice dark trough right in front, did not do much, just cast in that direction and waited. Wham, hook up the first 5 casts and 5 fish. the huge redtail came in on the fourth cast and i thought it was a striper, because he fought like one.
  5. From a baby redtail to walleye, calico, and barred. The sizes varies from 4 inch to 14 incher. can't complaint about fishing today, except for the weather, it was too bright and too nice. released all undersize fish kept 10 for dinner tonight.
  6. Got this Feisty little guy today, before the wind pick up.
  7. Thanks everyone. BirdDog- i was surprised myself. she weighted in at 8.45 lb and 27 inches. She's a Fatty.
  8. Decided to wet the line today. since i had been soooo busy with work. my goal was to hook fish and was not targeting anything in particular. used live sandcrabs for bait. first of all, the first few hours, hook and landed a few barred perch and nearly toward the end of the bottom of the tide, a strong side wash beginning to sweep from left sided to right side, so i cast my bait toward the left and let it drift back in the middle, while it was doing that, i felt something was pulling on it. set the hook and it was on. it took a while before i landed it on the beach. had a great time out there. hey i get to go home and watch the niners game tonight.
  9. i'm stoke when i hook up this feisty fellow, i was going for perch and when i came across this guy. he wasn't very happy when hook up, very stubborn did not want to come in, but instead he decided to peel out some line several times and after a few minutes of battle, he gave up. Fun Day
  10. Congrat. BChef. WTG man. Hope your streak will continue. I went out this morning to see i could come across a striper or somekind. however, i'm just as happy with some perchs. while i was fishing, saw quite a bit of stripers being caught on lure.
  11. I took out my ultra light rod and reel and this is what i came home with.
  12. what a gorgeous day to be out fishing, however fishing was decent, decent enough to hook and landed some fish. ended up with 3 tiny size barrd, 6 smelts, 1 undersize redtail and 1 decent striper. it was a ok day.
  13. Well, Congratulation Raj. See consistency paid off.
