  2. I need help with a creative writing assignment that i'm sending to colleges that i applied to. the topic is a top ten list and i'm thinking about "Top ten things to avoid while ice fishing". It should be funny and creative. any ideas are appreciated. Thanks!
  3. The ones I've seen seem similar to the frogs. A bass would eat it if you crawl it back from the shoreline or over cover.
  4. I've been fluke fishing in the Navesink River with a three way swivel rig and gulp but I can't seem to avoid getting covered in weeds on every cast. Any Advice?
  5. I have a house in Indian Lake. was up there this weekend too and caught 6 smallmouth bass in the Indian River. What bodies of water were you fishing?
  6. do you use the same fluke rig in the rivers that you would use in the bay? I've tried off my kayak in the navesink but i get weeds on every cast.
  7. thanks for all the help. I asked if y'all could come and show me how its done but unfortunately i'm not allowed to have any "strange fisherman" over to the dock. but when i asked her if she considered me a "strange fisherman" she said yes, So don't feel to bad and one more question about the weakfish. Whats your favorite rig for the river? I heard a lot of good things about the pink fin-S on a jighead.
  8. Does anyone have a boat available or know where I can find one?
  9. I just moved the the Navesink River and I am looking forward to getting a lot of fishing in off the dock and hopefully on a boat. (Anyone one know where I can get a summer rental?) I've caught some blue fish on metals already but they've been either hit or miss. Does anyone have any advice for optimum river conditions this time of year such as tide, wind, etc? Also can I expect to catch fluke or striper from the dock? I'm fishing in about ten feet of water with a weedy bottom. Any advice on dock fishing in general would be greatly appreciated.
  10. I just moved to the Navesink River and I am looking forward to fishing off my dock this summer. I've already caught some blues on metals but the fishing seems to be hit or miss. What are the best conditions for blues in the river this time of year such as tide, wind, etc. Also can I expect to catch anything else from the dock this summer. I was hoping for some fluke and stripers. Any advice on dock fishing in general would be greatly appreciated.
  11. The jitterbug has been one of my favorites the past three years for bass and pickerel. Make sure to use a stop and go retrieve though because about 60% of my hits come as soon as you move it after a stop.
  12. caught one nice blue fish today on a hopkins in the river with my first cast and then nothing. I was fishing from 1:00 - 2:30. Is it better to fish for blues early or late?
  13. I have the wacky worm model and it is the best rod I have ever owned and it comes with a 5 year warranty. If you can get it for $80 i'd say that's a steal
